Hawks Preseason Presser

Alright y'all.
It's been awhile since we did anything splashy, so we took a 'eff it, this is a game, it's supposed to be fun' approach to team building this year. Sure, trading away our best young pieces in Ron Harper and Charles Barkley are going to get some side looks, but the talent we brought in is undeniable. Theus is the elusive solid 2 we've been looking for to give Derek Harper a real shot at the PG position, his improved ratings over some very impressive camps means he should be able to stick there, even if he's a tad slow for the position. And McHale is...McHale. We've never had a 30+ppg guy in our history, and now we do, and most of the league can't say that.
Are we going to win a championship? Well, it's tough. The Lakers and Spurs still look tough. But we like our chances in the division and in the east. We feel very underestimated by the rest of the league - esp those that weren't around for our first run - but like Phil Jackson's second stint in the NBA, we hope this run ends in championships. (Where's #not1not2not3 when you need him?)
Anyway, with that, I'll take some questions...

Based off the Pre-Season results, do you think Kevin McHale will continue his dominance as a top-scoring option in the league, or will Cliff & Reggie and the emerging LaSalle all pull points and shots away from him?

Steve Duin, the Oregonian:
Mr
@IamQuailman can you tell us who Kevin Love is? I remember Stan Love and his cup of coffee in the league in the early 70's, and I know he's the second-most-famous Love in the family (Mike Love of the Beach Boys), but who's Kevin?
As for
@TheSyndicate walk us through acquiring Reggie Theus. Would you consider him an overrated player? Did you feel the Clippers were ready to move on from him? What does the future hold for Darwin Cook, who seems to have been on the trade block forever?

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: can you speak to the lack of depth your team has and how you plan to mitigate that? Can you also explain how you plan to fix the turnover problems you experienced during pre-season?

Do you feel adding McHale will put your team in the conversation for a title run or do you think you need 1 more piece?

LaSalle doesn't shoot all that much and there's plenty of shots to go around. So yes, I think McHale should be top of the league all season

Reggie Theus I think is *Robotic Voice*
Properly Rated he's a platonic ideal of a combo guard. He's not scoring 30, but he's a consistent 20/10 threat, plays great defense, can play 1-3, and there's nothing he doesn't do well. Sure maybe the numbers aren't as flashy as his purple color, but any lineup would be lucky to have him.

Depth is a tricky thing, I think most teams in the league would take a 7-deep lineup of start-able guys. I like the 4 others on the roster to do their jobs as well.
As far as turnovers, the simputer had guys handling the ball that shouldn't have been - and vice versa. I don't think you'll see that as an issue this year.

In the conversation (e.g. top 5-6 teams in the league)? Yes. A favorite? Probably not. But the East isn't as scary as the West and anything can happen in a playoff series. If we're healthy going into the playoffs, I like our chances in most matchups.
