#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

Hello and welcome to the Pre-Season Press Conference for your Washington Bullets!
I know you can see that our scouts and doing their best to leverage our assets and maximize our potential.
We made a lot of moves last season and ended up with the #1 pick in the draft.
Of course, we felt like there was a buzz around a couple of players that we were not that impressed by, and ultimately moved the pick for a great package.
We're expecting great things this season out of Detlef Schrempf, and judging by what he did in the pre-season, he is ready to deliver.
By the way, Huge Shout Out to the Lakers and LTS!!!
Congratulations on getting to the top of the league!
You will forever be remembered as a Champion.
Of course, we did put in a lowball bid for Ennis Whatley hoping to secure his service at a discount. The fact that he took the Lakers offer didn't sit well with our front office and we let him walk.
Great thing about that is landing Alton Lister.
This guy has done nothing but make contenders out of every team he has ever been on.
We brought in some veterans to join him in the form of Marquez Johnson and James Edwards, and they both took dips in TC.
They were the only players on our 15 man roster to post poor camps though, and we had multiple players take huge leaps forward.
We're extremely excited about our young guys, and the potential they are unlocking.
No doubt, teams will take notice of this talented team of youngsters, and come looking to acquire them.
And like always, we'll be happy to move them to contenders looking for the hardware.
We know it won't be easy to get the #1 pick again, but we'll play it by 60 days to see if we want to push in further.
At the trade deadline, we might be buyers, we might be sellers.
Either way, it's going to be a hell of an exciting season in DC.

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: As someone who reviewed all of your moves last season, do you think you will make more or less moves compared to last season?

You have a few good young players in Hot Rod Williams and Kenny Smith that will be coming off of the bench. How much floor time do you see them having? Do they have a chance of making it into the starting line up this season? What is your hope for these two young players?

Have you considered engaging in any more illegal trades this year? If so, which ones?

What are the goals for your team this season?

I know it will be hard to match my activity on the market from last year, but my goal is to trade every player that is currently on my roster.
I don't expect the market to cooperate with those aspirations, but I will put in some work to move bodies for sure.

You made a lot of moves to get young talent around Sleepy. You then made the trade to bring in Lister, while dominant is on the older side. So are you rebuilding or competing? Are you just seeing how the season goes before picking a direction?

Well my hope for the team is to make a bunch of trades and stack assets.
If the plan goes accordingly, I'll be trading some of my starters, which will open up minutes for the younger talent.

Didn't read the whole rule book, so very possibly.
We're more worried about competing for a title than staying between the lines.

We're looking to stack assets for a better day.
We won't shy away from winning games, but finding our talent homes on competitive teams is probably our main goal.

John Paxson is currently 3rd on our depth chart at point guard, but he's getting plenty of minutes.
We know that when the trade window opens there are teams interested in him.
It's just going to come down to whether they value him as much as we do.

I'm definitely in a rebuild.
I know I have some valuable assets as well as some talented players and I'm willing to move either if it's in the best interest of the organization.
As currently constructed the roster can't be expected to win many games, but that doesn't mean we won't trade our younger pieces for win now players.
Just has to make sense.
