Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.
Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.

I see that I'm 5-1. I thought it was still preseason. That was crazy. I'm ahread of the 4-2 Sonics and, upon further inspection, their only losses that sim were both to me. Crazy.
I think that might be fake af that we're top 6 in both points scored and allowed. I don't see how that holds. We're the same team as last year but arguably worse lol, so we'll probably peter out in the latter half of the season like last year, too.
Bucks are real and Lakers are real. No doubt about it. Spurs too.
It blew my mind that the celtics might finally be good...??? Happy for you, AB. Keep it rolling.

Every division looks to be a 2-team race and I think that continues for a while. I think the Pistons are for real this time too. They started last season off slowly but caught fire at the end and that momentum is carrying itself into this season. They have not figured out the Knicks yet but there is still plenty of time.
The 76ers are not going to be this bad. The Humphries injury stings but there is a lot of offensive talent in Philly right now and I think they will right the ship soon.
The number of injuries in Sim 1 seemed more than usual. Tough, physical play defined the 1980s IRL and it looks like sim league is following the script. Hope folks can come out unscathed.

Let's start with what is real. Firstly, The Game Hating Me. Let's Start With The Talent I Should Have Benn Able To Draft Last Season. Karl Malone Is Averaging A Double Double With Over Four Assists. Ewing May Be Playing The Best Of Anyone In the NPBSL After The First Sim. They Are By All Accounts The Best Two Players Right Now In PBSL. Then The Guy I Was Able To Trade For, Dominique, Balls Out Just To Get Absolutely Rocked By The Cavs (Who Some Still Say Is My Shadow Team...)
But really all of those players are legit this season, and I expect them all to continue I think, with maybe Malone taking the step back of any of them.
The Fake is the Knicks have three top tier guys this season. Buck, Moses, and Bernard are all balling out. However, the schedule for the Knicks was not a terribly hard one. So I think as the seasons progresses they are going to struggle with feeding all those mouthes (mouths'?) I could be very wrong, but that would also benefit me, so...
Speaking of me, and 'Niques injury, 41 days is a long time to loose a player of his caliber. I could very well see my team dig a hole we may not be able to get out of again depending on how the next two sim go and this first sim be a mirage of what my team actually looks like at the end of the season.

Bonus answer because I don't know if anyone else will cover it. Is Magic not going to be MVP this season??? It is now the both pre-season and the first sim where he has not played to his usual caliber. Will this sustain or will LTS figure it out?!

I see the East being better than expected, and the West bring worse than usual. There are only 3 teams with 2 or less wins in the East as opposed to a whopping 6 in the West, basically an entire division's worth. I haven't looked into schedules enough to see who beat who, but if this holds, the playoff race in the West is over before it's even begun. I don't expect it to though.
Mike Lowry wrote: Thu Nov 27, 2025 4:42 amWhat's real?
The usual suspects being at the top of their conferences. The Bucks and Lakers are going to be the standard-bearers in their conferences until they're forcibly removed by a competitor. Injuries is the only thing I can see that could knock them out of the 1st seed.

The Blazers' 2-4 start. We saw this last season, it's going to take Wig a little time to get all of his new pieces on the same page...but once he does, look out.

Kurt Rambis and Kevin Willis averaging over 20 PPG. I'd apologize for being unfamiliar with their games, but in the case of Rambis, a scoring burst like this was never a part of his game to begin with! As for Willis, I think having Nance next to him freed up the post a little bit more than Cummings did, and he's taken full advantage of the opportunities.

I see some new powers emerging in the East. The Celtics have come out as a contender out the gate, and the Pistons aren't waiting 2-3 sims before turning on the gas. Obviously the Bucks are still the team to beat, but a McHale injury for a couple sims could open the door for some excitement at the top of the Eastern Conference. As for what's real, the Spurs & Lakers are real. The powers that be in the West until otherwise. What's fake? Sorry greepy, but while I love going big in the middle *winkwink*, Golden State's lack of a true option at guard is hgoing to catch them sooner rather than later. I think the biggest mind-blowing thing for me is McHale not leading the league in scoring after losing his top two scoring buddies. The Bucks ended up having a more balanced line-up as a result and not all points funneling through Mr. McHale.

What do you see so far?
I see a shake up in the eastern conference. Bulls, Bullets, and Nets may be taking a slight step back while the pistons and celtics look to improve on last season. I see the West being more of the same as last season with maybe one new team in the playoff, but likely having the same 6 teams as last season.
What's real?
The Bucks, Lakers, Pistons, Spurs are all real. I think the Pistons are primed to take a step forward this season and compete for the first round bye while we know the other 3 teams are going to be at the top of their divisions/conferences
What's fake?
Trailblazers and their 2-4 start. I assume it's because they didn't submit a DC for Sim 1 so I expect them to get back on track. They did start slow last season before making a strong push and taking a hold of the division for a few sims.
What blew your mind in the first sim?
My Supersonics getting off to a good start. Would not have expected to have a 4-2 sim especially with 4/6 games on the road. I'm not sure what to expect of my team moving forward.

What do you see so far?
I see some really bad starts by teams I expected to compete.
I think a screenshot of the standings after the first sim will look almost completely different than end of season.
What's real?
Of course, Lakers, Bucks, Spurs, Celtics and Pistons as legit contenders with the Bucks and Lakers as the pace setters.
Kings and Pacers are obviously tanking, 6ers are asleep at the wheel with a ton of talent.
That all makes good sense to me.
What's fake?
The parity in the East is fake.
The line of separation in the West is fake.
Bunch of rising and falling to come.
What blew your mind in the first sim?
The league wide scoring numbers blew my mind after the first sim.
There is one team in the league that is holding teams under a Buck average, and that's the Bucks.
Five teams averaging over one twenty, eleven over one fifteen, and twenty out of twenty three teams averaging over one o'five, in 1987 is nuts.
