Hakeem Olajuwon

from a statistical standpoint, only Magic Johnson has been more efficient this season and that is absolutely bonkers to me. I have no idea why the computer is not rewarding Hakeem with rookie of the month honors in 1985 but this guy is playing at All-League levels right now and the potential for MVP-caliber seasons is there if the Celtics can figure out the rest of the lineup.

The answer is Michael Jordan, and for one reason alone... He's not a Celtic.

Just kidding, Michael Jordan has a handful of reasons he isn't leading this rookie class in scoring (literally a handful of people). Imagine a Spurs team that didn't get Kiki in UFA... MJ might be averaging 30+ppg right now. On top of that, he's creating for his teammates & doing alot off the ball. MJ has had to step in at SF, SG, PG due to injuries and has thrived at all levels. Hakeem, for as dominant as he has been, is literally the only person on that team worth a damn that hasnt been injured for a quarter of the season. And he's only averaging 2pts more than MJ despite all that pointing to the Celtics having no other options.

MJ is a god already, we should start giving him his praise now... with this award.
