Without picking on anyone specifically, what have your trade talks been like lately?
Is there a move you're trying to make, that hasn't materialized?
If you made a trade on day 60, is it what you were looking for?
What are your thoughts about the current trade market?
Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.
Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.

Trade talks have been decent lately. I had some interesting talks before the season, and last, where people wanted my pick (so I get what Greeple is saying with his top players).
The talks I had were actually really easy for D60. Johnson was moved rather quickly once I decided to move him. Pauly was open to moving and made our deal quick. The same was for Levingston, where I packaged him with a pick, to get another PG. So hopefully one of them does well in the future.

As all trade talks go, there are ebbs and flows. For the most part, I had been shopping primarily since TC (maybe even before?) for a center upgrade (or just depth?), but for the most part that hasn't really come to fruition.. whether it's $$$ or just not the right assets, a deal couldn't get done. I did have a couple trades where initial talks looked favorable (Ralph) but then things fell apart. But the trade for Doc Rivers was one that I had never imagined making. I thought it was a long shot in the dark when I sent the DM to KeepIt & he came back with "oh thats actually interesting". The trade expanded out a little further pulling in digiskunk and the rest is history. Excited to see how Doc pans out, because he was who I really had my eye on back in the draft last season, but Mavs scooped him up a pick or so before me. As for Center, maybe something will pan out... but we are doing pretty good with the current rotation. Things could change though with an injury and my excessive depth at the wing could come into play.

All but nonexistent. Sent out a couple of feelers, for the most part have heard "no" or "crickets." Have seen very few incoming trade offers from teams not named the Lakers.
I'm mostly happy with my team's performance, but wouldn't mind gauging the market for Kurt Rambis and Kelly Tripucka (see my trade block) now so that when RFA rolls around, I have a better idea of what their value around the league is.
The current trade market is... slower than I would have expected. I expected once the 1984 draft had passed, especially with so many teams holding their 85, 86, and 87 picks, we would see some more shuffling of players and picks, but that just hasn't materialized. I'm wondering if teams are keeping their powder dry because of worries about how expensive Free Agency might be.

Trade talks have generally been good. I will admit, I have had at times where they stalled because of me not responding or not being fully transparent in what I am looking for. Hoping to be better about that moving forward.
Is there a move you're trying to make, that hasn't materialized?
If I were to make a move, it would be to get another quality depth piece at guard. But the issue is that I don't have much to give unless I give away one of core pieces.
What are your thoughts about the current trade market?
I think the trade market is a bit diluted due to the fact that more teams seem to be competing now. Only a few teams are actively tanking and some of those don't have much to offer or don't want to offer up what good pieces they have. Maybe by the time the next sim comes around we may start to see more teams going into tank mode.

For starters, everyone is available if you're interested, but Parish and DG cannot be sold for scraps.
I'm still waiting for a decent (not to mention legal) offer for Robert Parish. Nothing has come through yet. We've gotten a couple offers and some interest, but he's still playing as the best member of our team, so if nothing decent comes through we are happy to sit tight another year.
I can't not pick on anyone so i'll spare specifics lol nothing i would call insulting though
I think the trade market as a whole has been pretty hot this season, but not in GS since Moses moved. Things seem quiet over here aside from getting counted out this year and remaining at the 5 seed. Ya know, no big deal. We're still good without Moses, and we knew we would be despite all the haters out there. Shoutout to Kenny Carr playing solid, solid ball off the bench, too.

My Nokia was exploding with trade offers for awhile, many of which almost came to fruition. I'm still deciding on my team's future and a lot of general managers gave me good advice heading forward. I want to say thank you to those individuals: it's good to know that people have your back in times of need.
In regards to the trade market and deadline, I'm hoping to trade Danny Ainge in exchange for future [high] draft picks and/or young prospects. There're many teams who're still building in hopes to to contend, and Danny Ainge is the ideal player to build around. Here's a link to his player page:
Enhanced/html/players/player830.htm
I don't expect a lot of activity at the trade deadline. I think the majority of the important acquisitions have already occurred; however I expect
at least one more big trade. Just wait.

All my trade talks have been quick. The Bucks wanted Doc Rivers, the Sixers wanted to shed some expiring money and replace their frontcourt depth following the loss of Jack Sikma in the offseason, and the Celtics wanted their pick. The Bucks in particular were super easy to work with since they sent a bunch of different offers and it became a choose your own adventure. Those are the best kind of talks where we wrapped it up within 5 minutes.
I have not posted a trade block since the league started mainly because I usually like rolling with my team as is and if folks reach out to trade then I'll adjust my plan on the fly. I'm not particularly gunning for a trade at the deadline but if folks see something worth discussing they know how to reach me.
I think there are a couple of dark horse teams with elite talent that could shake up the league, namely the Cleveland Cavaliers with Paxson, Moncrief, and Mahorn and the Houston Rockets with Larry Bird. They are both historically tough GMs to negotiate with but if anyone manages to break through that kind of blockbuster talent could swing the pendulum in the playoff race.

They've all been great. As most know, I've had to adapt to unique circumstances, and everyone I've talked to has been understanding and honest when it comes to trying to work out a fair deal for both.

No, I did pretty much everything that I set out to do.

Yeah, I was hoping to get a 1st and points for Macy, and that's what happened. Picking up Pat and Peter was icing on the cake, though I fear it might have put me into "best of the worst" territory, which is not good for drafting purposes.
Mike Lowry wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 2:52 pmWhat are your thoughts about the current trade market?
It's interesting. I think teams are starting to recognize that we're moving into a new era of sim league, and are jockeying for position as opposed to sitting back and letting things develop. Getting the Jordan draft over with helps tremendously, but there's also been a couple of big moves that have jolted some GMs into action. Outside of the few who tapped out early, I don't think there's a GM in the league who's completely comfortable resting on their laurels. That's made for a very active and healthy trade economy this season.

My own trade talks have been hit or miss lately.
I think the trades I did make mostly came at a time where I was in multiple talks and I could have easily been in a different situation.
I try to gauge who might be open to a trade before offering, and to send a fair enough offer to not get my number blocked.
I had something in mind for day 60, and it made a little sense for both sides, but my counter-part decided otherwise.
Now I am still looking to make a move, and literally anyone is on the table, but I am looking to send a package for a super-star.
I think I like the state of the current market.
Lot of trades going down.
Lot of activity.
Multiple cases of seeing a trade that could work for me, and the player being traded to another team before I could get a bid in.
I think this kind of engagement is great for the league.

Trade talks have been non-existant for me. I don't have Ralph Sampson, so Doug hasn't tried to slime into my DMs. I have a pretty complete team, so I'm not looking for too much. My main two positions I'm looking for is backup SF and backup C. For assets, I'd have draft picks, points, and Allen Leavell. Craig Hodges is available with the right offer though.
There isn't a lot of people looking to move players around right now. After last draft, people are either competing already, waiting for their young guys to develop, or they don't have pieces to give up.

Trade talks have been good. Idk If I need to make any moves at the moment. Still trying to figure out this team. There were some good offers that If I didn't make the Gminski trade that I would have considered. There aren't any moves I am trying to make at the moment but that could always change.

Well I've made one trade, and it was to accumulate some points for a nice bench piece to go to a contending team. Ultimately, I don't think there was that much daylight between him and the guy who replaced him, and was happy to bank the points. Trade market seems open, there's a bunch of teams that could go either way, a bunch of teams at the very top trying to out-buy eachother, and (as I alluded to in the previous town hall) a bunch of tankers. So there's lots at play. I've had some fun conversations, I'm sitting on some offers to see what my team looks like post-day-60 trade, and I could really go either way, tough but fun.
