Who's the best player in the league? Who's the MVP?
Is it the same player? If not, what's the distinction?
How would you game plan against them?

Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.

Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.

Due: Due by the deadline for sim 5

The best player in the league is also the MVP, Moses Malone. Averaging the most minutes, most points, and 2nd most rebounds. It's hard to compete with a player like that. You just know that when he touches the ball, he's scoring. He recently dropped 61 points in a game. I'm sure someone has scored that much, if not more, throughout the entire #SLOE lifetime but 61 is definitely the most I've seen in my short time of being in the league. There's not many people out there, if any at all right now, that are going to be able to drop 60+ in a game. And I'm pretty sure he has more 50 point games than the rest of the league combined.

How would you game plan against them?
You don't plan against him. You go into the game with the mindset of "he's gonna get his" and you limit everyone else. You also need to make sure your offense is on that night too because every time you miss a shot, he'll be right there to rebound it and take it to the other end and score. And take advantage when he's on the bench getting some rest

Who's the best player in the league? Who's the MVP?: MVP is going to be a close race this year, but I think Moses is the clear front runner here. He is playing like an psychopath and abusing people. Looking like the purple pot prize fighter the Warriors always thought they had. Has to be fun rolling him out every night. Magic is flirting with averaging a triple dub though, that could complicate things in the end. That being said I still think Magic is just simply still the best player in the league overall.

Is it the same player? If not, what's the distinction?: Currently, it is not, in my opinion. Moses is putting together a MVP campaign, but Magic is unicorn right now. There has never been a player like him up to this point and the way he fills a box score is unmatched. Magic J is the best player in the league at the moment.

How would you game plan against them? Still trying to figure that out. Personally, I dont think you can defend against Magic. He is going to do what he wants and you have to hope he misses some shots. I think you have to gameplan around what is around him. Think a zone/trap defensive combo could muck things up enough to keep him at bay, but I don't really know squat about fudge so who's asking me?

Good luck gentlemen

I feel like this is a broken record, but the two main players here is Moses Malone and Magic Johnson. The game often features the highest PPG player as the MVP, so I do believe that Moses will be MVP. In my opinion, Magic is the better player/MVP. His impact on the court is featured in so many ways. He is the complete all around offensive player that makes the team better.

As far as game planning, I would stack the lane against both. Play a lot of zone and in the off chance the ball gets to a different player's hand, I would hope to get steals with Help as my secondary defense.

The best player in the league is Moses Malone. But the MVP is Magic Johnson.
Is it the same player? If not, what's the distinction?
No, obviously. The distinction for me is "who is responsible for the most individual success" versus "who is responsible for the most team success." Moses is an absolute beast and it pretty much unstoppable. But Moses has some talent around him. The Suns have Magic and basically nothing else. I am convinced if you took Magic off that team and replaced him with a league-average point guard, they're a 30-win squad. In other words, Magic is single-handedly propping up the squad and as long as Magic is healthy, the Suns are dangerous.
How would you game plan against them?
With Moses, I would try to shut down all the perimeter scorers. Lister isn't going to score, but if Moses gets no help, he's going to top out at 60 points, not enough to beat you. For Magic... geez, no idea. Pray for an injury? Pay off the refs to eject him from the game on two quick Technical Fouls?

The way I look at it is purely mathematical:
The best player in the league, is by a longshot: Magic Johnson
The MVP: Moses Malone

The distinction is, the way I look at players with my formula, Magic Johnson is far and away better than every other player in the league, why he's not playing to that potential is a different question.

I don't really know enough about game planning against specific people yet, but Magic was hurt against me in the playoffs last year for the first 4 games, and I had a 3-1 series lead, so I was able to hang on to that and close it out by the time he got back.

Who's the best player in the league? Who's the MVP?

My choice for best player and MVP is Calvin Natt. Natt is carrying the Bullets. He's averaging more points than minutes played. Just imagine if he wasn't on a minutes restriction...JK. I think if he stays healthy he will win the MVP. Dude is crazy good.

Is it the same player? If not, what's the distinction?

I am kinda confused with this question. I think I may have answered that question above lol.

How would you game plan against them?

The plan is probably let him get his and stop everyone else. IDK if there's a answer to stopping Natt. He shoots at a high percentage, draws fouls and may get a few of your key guys in foul trouble. He also gets to the line 15+ times a game I think. I don't think there is a answer/plan for Natt.

I think the best player is Moses, but I also think the MVP is a tossup between Calvin Natt & Bernard King.
Is it the same player? If not, what's the distinction?
Moses is absolutely the beast, but man, without Natt & King their respective teams would be falling apart without them. Natt is a legit forward that doesn't get enough love in this league. Completely under the radar.
How would you game plan against them?
Personally, I would stick a hard nose, athleticm, handsy defender on them both and just try to make things tough
