What do you think of the results after 1 sim?
What's real?
What's an aberration?
Who did you not expect to have the start they did?
Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers, which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.
Note: Use approximately 5 sentences as your bare minimum for 1 point. If you write 3 long, complex sentences, you'll still get a point. If you write 5, 3 word sentences, you will not get a point. Don't @ me.
Due: Due by the deadline for sim 2

New York Knicks
What do you think of the results after 1 sim?: Spirits are high in NY. We only had 5 games in the first sim, but we came out on top in all 5. Electric start. We really played as a well balanced team, not relying on any one player to carry us. The bench really came out and played well as well. Going to stay humble here as we have a few tough tests coming in Sim 2, but we off to the races out the gate baby!
What's real?: Ill tell ya all whats real, Buck "Board Boy" Williams. Sure he was the first overall pick, everyone knew he would be good, and he had a great training camp, but the kid came out like a monster. Averaging 20 and 11 in his first 5 games and went head to head with Malone. He's going to be a problem
What's an aberration?: Who is to say for sure at this point, but I do know that 0 in the loss column is a aberration unfortunately. Enjoying it now, but hope we can continue to go positive each sim.
Who did you not expect to have the start they did? Again, small sample size, but I expected Dr. J to put up bigger numbers out of the gate. Only a pedestrian 18 and 8 right now..sheesh. But really, I think this is actualy a better sign than not, hes a bit older and doesnt need to carry this team. We have scoring all over the court. I do expect him to still average 20+ this year at the end and if he does that along with Darrell and Buck then the 1981 Knicks will be in a good place.
Good luck gentlemen

I...underestimated the Knicks! Buck Williams is having a tremendous impact on their team right from the start, and Darrell Griffith's TC boost has moved the needle for the team as well. Between these two and Julius Erving and Rickey Green, they've got icing on their cake too. These fools starched me, at home, too.
I think this team is the real deal, and it's a shame that, after 1 sim, we only have a 5 game sample size for them. Then again, 4 of those 5 games were on the road, and one of them was against another formidable squad in the Phoenix Suns. Dayyuuummn, New York!!
I'm going to stick with the positives and look at the Jazz, coming off a very disappointing season 1. It doesn't seem like a ton has changed for them in the offseason, but with a healthy Kiki and a brand new Tom Chambers, it seems to be enough to make this a playoff team. And that's a scary thought, especially if they figure out a way to add another piece.
Lastly, I did not expect the 76ers to open 4-2. Looking more closely, they only played home games in sim 1, so that checks out, but still- they were one of the worst teams in the league last year! Opening 4-2! Not bad at all.

For myself, a little frustrated. Losses to the Jazz and Nuggets (a combined 12-3) and even the Cavaliers on the road are understandable, but it's always annoying to look up in the standings at someone else.
What's real?
The Pistons being 0-6. They deliberately went after players that aren't ready yet but have high ceilings, and we're seeing the results.
What's an aberration?
The Jazz. It's not because they beat me, but because I don't trust their Centers nor their Point Guard and eventually lack of production will catch up to them.
Who did you not expect to have the start they did?
The Jazz (see above), and the Rockets. Larry Bird's bad offseason has continued into a bad season, and that's unfortunate for Houston.

My game plan was flawed... The players are doing what they're supposed to, but the team chemistry is just not there. It's weird, though, because individually, their stats are solid, but between the bad game plans and lack of cohesion, we’ve left some wins on the table.
I think the 3-3 record is an aberration. Even without a PF, we’re better than that. The scoring is legit, we're the 5th highest-scoring team in the PBSL. Our defense has also improved, and the stats back that up. The +5 point differential is real. That's where we stand. The blowouts to the Mavericks were just bad game planning, but that won’t happen again.

I am pleasantly surprised with our record so far. I expected this season to be around .500. For other teams, I'm surprised with the Clippers. I thought they would have a better record at this point in the season.
I think the Jazz are for real. They were a top team until Kiki got injured, so I think they are built for success (barring injuries).
The aberration is no injuries at all. lol. But I think I'm the aberration. I don't see my team as winning the division and will likely fall to 3rd or 4th in the division by the end.
The Bucks did not have the SIM I expected. I thought they would be division leader, but they are stuck at .500 after sim 1.

What do you think of the results after 1 sim?
I am kinda shocked with the results of my team. Wasn't expecting a 3-4 start but I'll take it. Hopefully they can keep this up and maybe win more games this upcoming sim. Would be nice to get off to a good start.
What's real?
With the history of the the league, Nothing's real after sim 1 lol. We would only know after a few more sims. That would kinda determine what's real and what's not real.
What's an aberration?
I will go with yes until proved otherwise after a few more sims.
Who did you not expect to have the start they did?
There are 2 guys I did not expect to have the starts they had. They are Ransey and Aquirre. they are both off to nice starts and I hope they improve on this start. Ransey has almost doubled his ppg average from last season this 1st sim. But I know it's just one sim and things will level off. Guess I can enjoy this why it lasts. even if it's just one sim.

What do you think of the results after 1 sim?
I think it really sucked. I didn't have high hopes for this season but I thought we would have put up better effort than we did. Scoring under 100pts/game is embarrassing. Might have to look into relegating my team of the league if that keeps up. Although I will say that I was very impressed with our defense. Top 6 in the league after we played 8 games is a solid start.
What's real?
I think our team being bad again is real (which we figured would be the case anyway). We're very young and probably still about 2 seasons out before we see us really start to compete and make a playoff push. But I also think our defense is the real deal. Not only are we top 6 in points allowed so far, we top 4 in steals and top 6 in blocks. So we're doing something right so far, just need to get some more defensive rebounds. And if we can keep up this defense and generate more offense, we may be making that push sooner rather than later.
What's an aberration?
Why you gotta come in here with all these fancy words? But I think our offense averaging under 100pts is the aberration. We have plenty of scorers on this team, but we are shooting well below league average. We start getting more towards the average and this team looks a lot different. Hopefully the changes we made for Sim 2 prove this team is better than they played in Sim 1
Who did you not expect to have the start they did?
Definitely did not expect the Knicks to start 5-0. Not saying I thought they would be bad, but any team that starts undefeated is kind of a shock. Especially since they aren't leading the league in any category but they are top 10 in a lot of them. I do think they can continue to build on this. I like the way they handled this offseason and they seemed poised to make a run this season and possibly next season.

What do you think of the results after 1 sim?
Not particularly happy with my own record, but I'm taking it as a suggestion from the simputer that some adjustments can get me on the right track.
I'm also a little surprised that parity still exists after some teams moved in drastically different directions.
What's real?
The Knicks are real, Utah is real, Pistons are really rebuilding, Rockets are really in trouble.
What's an aberration?
The Knicks aren't that good, they'll come back to earth a little and end up with a 4 or 5 seed.
The Lakers, Clippers, Nets, and Cavs will all improve their win percentage.
The Nuggets and 6ers will also fall from their current positions, 6ers all the way out of the playoffs.
Who did you not expect to have the start they did?
Utah and New York obviously jumped out further than I expected.
LA and Milwaukee started slower than expected.
Mark Aguirre with 27 points and Johnny Moore with an insane 15 assists per game are eye catching.

Loved my results, although would've liked it more to win all my home games.
I know my team is real and built it to be real this season, just gonna come down to the matchups with other top teams and how they swing to determine my overall record.
Jazz starting 6-1 and leading the West is an aberration, that will fall down with time and Nuggets will take the place as the true #1.
I was surprised with the Knicks 5-0 start, very exciting for a young GM to have a great early team and hopeful they continue to do well.
