S71 Golden State Warriors Preseason Presser

Delmer Bricker has returned from the 2060 Olympics with a gold medal. Breanna Stewart has returned from the 2060 Olympics with a gold medal, and a Purple Medal of Honor. With so much gold (and new purp) in the Golden State, it's kinda hard to think that we won't taste gold again in the 2061 Championship race.

How did we get here?

By being great. We've always been great, even though you didn't know it. Our championship dreams lay dormant after our last trip to the finals ended in defeat by one game, one misstep, and our dominance has been in hibernation, waiting for its international emergence, virtue signaling some loser-bombs on Detroit. And Dallas (why not).

Truthfully, these Warriors have much to prove. One breakout season winning the division was not enough to make it past the semifinals. In fact, we embarrassed ourselves there, even though a healthy Spurs squad was sure to destroy us. A gentleman's sweep would have been nice. Maybe forcing a game 6 for the fans? The revenue? The glory? We will not be deterred again.

Scouring the landscape for a challenge, we breeze right past Dallas and focus our sights on Los Angeles and Detroit and Washington DC. Possibly Indiana. There are no serious teams in Omega, besides Toronto. So we'll see them in the conference finals after a quick 8 games against literally anyone else.

Anyway, everyone who needed to get better in a Warriors uniform, did. We stole the stealing king himself, Jason Marotta. We're deeper and still open to making one or two more deals to solidify our glory. Besides that, we comin fo dat ass

Any questions?

Can you talk about why you breeze past the Dallas Mavericks?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: What has Jason Marotta been able to teach you about the Pistons' strengths and weaknesses that you can apply to the Warriors? With Cross and Stewart looking supercharged, is this the start of a new Dubs Dynasty?

Desert here,

The raptors saw some declines in training camp, while your team got a boost. Do you think you can contend with the raptors in a 7 game series if both teams are fully healthy?

Did you think this would hurt me like Fabian Hub hurt you?

As you look for pieces to add depth, what is the ideal player that can take you over the top?
You can throw out some names, or just list the type of player that would help the group you have now gel into dominance.

The Mavericks have two players better than probably anyone on my team, but after that? Crickets. They need to beef up anywhere besides athletic wings. I have three of those, none are as good, but depth ftw, baby. Also I love giving LTS a hard time. He's actually a formidable foe.

Jason Marotta has taught us that Detroit has been blinded by the purple light, and once that light goes out, they're toast. Lauri and Pee Wee pose challenges, sure, but Marotta will be the MLE solution. Also, are the Pistons just the Lakers? Look at all that purple and yellow on that roster...

This is the season we have been waiting for in the Bay, yes, and we would love for it to be a dynasty team. Our tax situation is not ideal, but without needing to spend on insurance, we should be able to keep things in tact financially for a little while, at least until Doug wins less than 70 games and sells off his team.

Looking around the league and I'd say that the young front courts in Los Angeles and Golden State are setup for a nice run at being the two best front courts in the league within the next few seasons. How do you feel they matchup against one another?

Respectfully, yes, we beat the Raptors in 6. They have a great squad, no doubt, but I just think we're better...? I don't have much more thought behind that, but I do think despite TC hits they're an upgraded squad from last season.

Well, the player I'd like more than any other I already talked about in my UFA article. I don't think I want to call any more attention to that guy in case someone else decides to go after him. I think his incumbent team should consider holding him, honestly, but if he wants to save the cap, I'd love to have him.

There's another team selling right now, and I'd like to buy. The contract I would have to match could be difficult, but he's not maxed or anything. Just overlooked. So I will not drop names. But I will message him right now (thanks for the reminder!)

I didn't realize you had a front court, but now I'm gonna scope them out...

...scoping...

Yeah, we beat you. Easy. No, just kidding, I haven't scoped anything yet. Let me do it for real this time...

Oh okay, I see now. This was not so much a question as it was a flex. You're not fooling anyone, Mamba, certainly not this two-time

What happened to your team in preseason? Are you putting any stock in it?

No i gotcha, I'd say one primary difference between our frontcourts, that is obvious, is size / athleticism. I think we'll have a tough time combatting LA's front court from that perspective.

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: I know that I was surprised last season when you traded away A'ja, but it appears that you had a really solid plan in all of that. Is there any part of you that regrets that trade?

Yeah, I wish I didn't send out points with a purple player, but no regrets. Teams are as good as their builds. My team wasn't balanced and I had one asset, one shot to balance it out, and he's still one of my best players.
