Hello and welcome to the Pistons S71 Preseason Presser. We did it again! BACK-TO-BACK TITLES!
A big thank you to the league for your understanding and supporting during this TRYING TIME OF BEING ATTACKED FOR HAVING A GREAT TEAM. We appreciate the warmth and support from those fans of great basketball and warm regards from other league executives. If it weren't for you all, it'd be VERY lonely at the top.
Last season, we did what we had to ensure we won the championship. We traded SVG for PWK. No Brainer. Anyone would've done that in our situation, you'd be lying if you said otherwise. We scrambled and paid our tax so that we could ensure our core 4 could stay together for another 2 seasons. And we went ahead and made moves to better our team by adding Ware and sending out perennial teammate-of-the-year, Trent Dawes. Again, if you were in my shoes, you do whatever you gotta do to get better.
Ware is a 1 year rental, so we want to make this work. 3-PEAT is definitely on the menu. Anything less is a failure.
We didn't really have a chance to sign players in UFA, but we did bring in some familiar faces like Thomas Bridges, Jerry Bryant & Harold Schiff. Good to see the big bruiser still bustin' chops in the league. We also managed to bring in some valuable wings during our post-Training Camp workouts, specifically Wesley Copeland, Kevin Butters & John Mitchell. Looking forward to seeing what they can do in the rotation.
Again, expect to see a 3rd consecutive banner hung in our rafters. That's the plan. Or maybe the league ends before then. We'll see.

Desert still here,
So what about your matchup with the suns last season(on your quest to a second straight championship)made you afraid? I mean you went out and got another top 2 player at their position in Kel'el Ware. Are you afraid of the suns? Just curious the mindset on going that far into the luxury tax on your quest for a 3 peat.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: With a new media czar in town, do you think it's wise to test @AngryBanana with rampant plagiarism when 5 points hang in the balance and Lew Alcindor could potentially end up being 5'3 if he gives them all to you?

Can I ask you this question in your presser so you can answer and I can copy & paste that too?

Congratulations on another title! Were you ever close to blowing this team up in the offseason or did the chance for a 3peat prove to be too enticing to pass up?

Someone who looks eerily similar to Nuggets Coach Jedihero but with a bad moustache:
" SithVillian here with the uhh Tatooine Tabloids, Obviously you have had great success these last two seasons and will continue to dominate this league in everyway. What advice can you give to other younger managers who aspire to get where you are, specifically ones that might have made the Finals back to back seasons only to lose all 8 games."

It's a free country. Congrats on the repeat championship, by the way!

How come the unused 7-7 Austin Jeske is untouchable, even while you make a run at a 3 peat?

Thanks for the question. Never was going to blow it up this past offseason, but next offseason may be a different story...

Just keep plugging along. It took me 15-20 seasons to win my first championship here... those don't come over night. Never be afraid to pivot and think outside of the box. I don't have the time or energy to hunt for trades after every sim like I used to... but being active and open in the trade market is always important. NEVER turn away from a chance to improve your team, regardless what people tell you.
