*Jock Jams- Are You Ready for This starts playing*

Jedihero: CUT THE F@$&ING MUSIC.

*RECORD SCRATCH*

Jedihero: Alright listen up. We had high hopes coming in to last season and we got absolutely smoked in the First round of the playoffs. Its F@$&ING EMBARRASSING! We had some pretty bad injuries to deal with throughout the year. Justin Amos, our best player on the year, went out the week before playoffs started so we were already behind the 8 ball against a Pacers team that had a helluva season. We ended up narrowly getting into the playoffs at the 7 seed because Amen Thompson was out for multiple weeks in the meat of our season. All that to say the past is the past and we made some moves in the offseason to try and build on what we did last season. At least we weren't the Celtics, amiright?

We made a trade for Ron Harper Jr, who had a fantastic preseason, and we are excited about what he will bring alongside Amos. We had 2 big contracts come up, and we able to retain one in Andrew Patrick, but unfortunately Amen decided he wanted to go elsewhere. So, we look a little weak at the PG position, but if the way we looked in preseason is any indication on the season, I think we will be just fine.

I’ll open it up to a few questions and then get back to practice with my guys.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: The Nuggets have had a bad history in recent times of talent turning down supermaxes to play elsewhere. How does that change your goals for the regular season, and how does that affect your strategy next time a big contract is coming up?

Who? me? oh wow didn't expect to get called on so quickly.

Ok, uhhhh, being that this team had high hopes for last season, how do you plan to use the lessons from last season to help your team improve this season? Injuries aside, if all goes according to plan, can we expect another deep playoff run like two seasons ago with the former GM?

How did the talks between Amen Thompson and the front office? Why did you gloss over this in the initial presser?

Our goals are the same, we will be in the playoffs making a title charge. The only thing that's different is the team composition. We experimented with moving some players into PG that didn't play there in the past and it seemed to work out fine, now we just need to figure out the best formula for our team, and the earlier we do it, the better we will be.

We just need to be better about letting these players know what the future of this team and my project looks like, and how it includes them. Amen left because he believed he was going to a better team. I fundamentally disagree with that, but only time will tell.

There's no doubt about it, with a 15 game mid season losing streak, the blame definitely falls on me. I will admit there was definitely a learning curve I needed to try and get over, I believe we started strong, and I made a few changed had a dip, but then we finished with a battle for the 7th seed, which we won. We had the opportunity and I just need to be better.

Every year I come in with a plan on how we bring home the ship. So, yes, if all is according to plan, you will see us in the Championship.

Honestly, I glossed over it because I'm still a little ticked about it. It was a bit of a blind side, Amos is still under contract, we made a move for Ron Harper, and I had full confidence we could retain Patrick. If Thompson came back we could have walked backwards, on one foot, with our eyes closed, into the playoffs. I'm not sure what Thompson saw in the Wizards, but as far as I know he believed he was heading to a more competitive team.
