Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.

Due: Fri. Dec 22nd at 4pm Sim 11 deadline.

Question: Who or what stands out to you in this draft class. If you don't want to tip your hand at who you might take or disclose your strategy then this second question is for you.
Who would you love to see win the draft lottery and why?

I like the PG Doering and I think the Grizzlies get him by winning the lottery. I also see the Mavs just missing out on a unicorn by one pick again.

I'd love to see the Heat win this lotto. Last off-season they were fantastic at taking major assets, like picks, and churning them to accumulate so many points and extra assets. Due to that kind of effort, I want to see them have an opportunity to do the same thing again so they can speed through this tax situation and put what they've learned into roster building free of those financial shackles.

I think Edison Doering is the clearcut #1 but I really like Granville Williams as the consolation prize for #2. I think he will be a wonderful scoring asset for any rebuilding team. I'm rooting for the Grizzlies to win the draft lottery. They have not had a #1 pick for almost 25 seasons now.

I'm going to keep some strategy items to myself because well.... You gotta pay for that.
I'm going to answer the second question, and my pick is for the pelicans. With ten straight losses and two big injuries hopefully they click right on down and the Mavs and grizz can surpass them. I would also be cool with the grizz or heat getting it. Not against the nets either. But I'm definitely against the Mavs or jazz getting it. The jazz would waste the pick and the player would drop in TC without protections. The Mavs would bench the player for no reason and then complain about his team not playing well. So let's get it to teams who are actually going to be active or teams who aren't taking 8 bad seasons(in counting) to try and be good. Also yes on doering but how about Hern?n Blanco. I love that name

I'm going to keep my strategy to myself because part of it is not giving a rat's ass about the draft at this point...and in many cases, any point. I hope the Wizards get the number one pick with either their pick or the Warriors pick. I'd really like to see them get a guy to build around since xist is one of the most pleasant GMs in the league to work with, and I'm sick of him feeling like he needs to either overpay people in RFA/UFA or go after diamond in the rough type stars to get roster movement going. It's been a long time since he's had a guy like Julio De La Rosa, and though xist flipped him fast, it'd be interesting to see him use the rookie contract years of a guy he can build to lead the team while using the extra cap space to get the right pieces around him.

Waldo don’t exist

Waldo disappeared after sim 9 but before 10. I could have sworn that the draft simulated after sim 9, so I started studying the players coming out of the draft. (This is from memory so it might not be accurate at all.)

There was a yellow/blue 7-1 with a jump of 100 and a speed of 41 A inside scoring, B defenses, and B steals, A free-throws, B jumpshot, C passing, C handles, C 3 point shooting.
There was a 5-11 point guard (orange/blue) with A defense, A steals, A inside scoring, A jump shot, B free throws, B passing, B handles, B 3 point shooting, 100 quickness.
There was another potential unicorn that was 6-3 with B passing, C handles, B inside scoring, B defense, A steals, B jump-shot, B free-throws, C 3 point shooting 100 quickness, 97 jump but was rated yellow/green.

That was waldo. I was going to pull a cashcab and grab a yellow/green with the 4th pick. I found Waldo and he disappeared. Why? Because he never existed.

His name was Mel Mitchell and you are not wrong...he was going to be special. @garbageman does them at a different time than @MexicanMamba used to do. BUT I tried to get him to keep that current draft file. Ultimately he didn't. But absolutely he was amazing to stare at...giggity

I would love to see anyone win the lotto and have the bobcats trade jaylen Forbes and Richard reed for that #1 pick so they can draft Edison doering and really puss off anyone wanting a PG.

If DrK is feeling sassy enough to do this, I think the heat would have to win the lotto, and DrK would have to kick in 10pts too. I don’t think even the Grizz are in a big enough tax bind to send out the #1 this year, and I still think Doering is not as good as Herman Campbell nor the perennially benched Angel Reese.

Even before reading gmans take I would have agreed it would be nice to see xist win the lotto. That guys built up enough good karma to earn a sim league win like the #1 in the draft. If it’s my pick though I will scream

I enjoy draft analysis, so I'll share a little.

•Raphael Cottrill is interesting because he's built to do only one thing, score. He needs no/can't get any athleticism boosts, meaning the only points that need be spent on him are for turning his B offenses into As. However, the fact that he's literally only good at one thing makes him a risk.

•Vern Sheridan is slow AF, but has high training potential. Solely focusing on his QKN will make him into an excellent, if one-dimensional, scorer. But, if one were to focus on his Cs in PAS, PRD, and STL (or if he were to get a TC boost), then you have the makings of a true superstar.

•This draft is a pretty bad draft for rebuilding teams, as a lot of these guys need points or TC boosts to really shine. They tend to be poor/awful in the areas they're not good at, even if those areas are critical to their overall effectiveness. It'll take a long time for some of these guys to develop naturally, so they'll be in need of protection at all costs, as one bad TC will completely wreck them. Look for this season's playoff teams to try jumping in, as they have the points and the patience to properly develop some of these sketchier prospects.

As far as teams I would like to see get #1, I don't think the Grizz and Heat will be as willing to wheel and deal as people think. I'd still like to see one of them get it though, as nothing motivates a team to get out of the tax like landing a stud. If not them, then the Pelicans, just so Darth doesn't get bored.

I would like to see the Nets win the lotto. As for the players The top 2 projected guys look really good but the others could be a good TC away from being really good. With some of the guys like Gene Joy being 21, he could have a really good TC and become really good quicker than the younger guys.

I'd like the Boston Celtics to win the draft lottery. They are starting to build a good, young team and I think they can flip the first pick into pieces that will help Antonio Gates take the next step forward and lead them into becoming a true contender in the conference.

Don't like repeating the same but PG Doering is legit a super star. At this point, my only concern is the Grizz drafting him. I enjoy watching Grizz lose. Doering is the type of player that can change a team to a super house!

For me, I am fortunate that I am in the blue territory. Where I am pretty safe I’m getting a blue prospect unless a tan jumps me to the top 3. My plans are to probably ship the pick out to another team for a win now wing to round out this roster.
