Rules: 1 point if you give thoughtful answers which I will award after the timer ends for responses. The timer ends for responses at the moment the corresponding week's Sim is run.

Due: Fri Dec 15th at 4pm Sim 9 deadline.

Question: As we escape the trade deadline. Let's reflect. Sit on Nate's couch and tell me how you feel about your team and the season so far? Any regrets? Any hindsight 20/20 moments?

I think I accomplished everything I could have wanted. I find myself in a somewhat unfortunate situation with a worsening team, no pick, and an almost certain need for points to insure my blue pot rookie contract players, of whom I have 6 now, and I will not be able to insure all of them.

But, I have a lot of solid future bigs in Claxton, Stewart, and Flagg, who I may seriously train into a point guard role - partially because it's hilarious, partially because his skillset and size is weird enough that, like Fabian Hub, I wanna juice the bejesus out of him.

Anyway, if I can hold the 10th spot in the draft (which I just lost, dropping to 8), I'll still feel good about this trade. The benefit of a clear commodity in Flagg versus the uncertainty of the draft lottery was worth the investment.

Only thoughts I have post sim is that I may do better to replace Blair with a SF of some sort. I played Gates at PF this sim and he excelled. This may be something I try to do more of moving forward, which turns Blair into an excess commodity. If I could get a wing to allow me to easily slide AG permanently to PF that would be great. To get a rise out of the Lakers, I should have included them in the Hawks trade sending them Blair to take back my man Ali. Because he is doing great in Orlando.

I can't really complain about how things have gone to this point. I definitely took some shots on bigger trades throughout the season that didn't work out. I also had an interesting offer for Banchero that I gave serious thought too, but ultimately passed on. Maybe it would've been a better idea to go get high quality front court help too.

However:

I turned Gupton and salary into Schiff. Made Hannon and points bring in JR Smith. Gilmore and a very solid pick brought in JVG and his 20+ ppg capabilities and a more than reasonable contract.

On top of that, I'm 12 players deep with all quality roleplayers who can contribute in a pinch.

We'll see how the season ends, but I won't be second guessing much if I don't manage to pull a title this season again.

I thought I had my first good UFA, but I did not. I no longer think losing teams can go after max contract talent; they're just never going to get them. I thought I picked up one of the better free agents (Quincy Johnson) but I found out no one wanted him at 60 million. So, my strategy of picking up UFA-free agents and flipping them for mid-level rookie contracts has yet to work. I might need more advice on making desirable free agency offers.

Having more blue players doesn't necessarily equal more wins. I mean, the bobcats are holding their playoff spot with 1 current blue player and a balanced lineup.

The offseason was both lucky and fun, but pretty much the season has been slow from there. I wasn't able to make many moves in season, so it's pretty much been trying to solidify a lineup with so many good players that seem to be lacking cohesion. The sheer talent is enough to keep the team in the hunt for the conference, but when you outspend the rest of the league on a roster, you expect to be there and mind-boggling losses to tanking teams can be irritating. Not a bad problem to have by any means, but if I do have one regret, it's definitely agreeing to run the league.

I'm pretty happy so far. The tank is working. I got rid of EJ Liddell's contract and I even collected a few points. My only regret is trading the Pacers 1st round pick to Dallas. Conover and Olsen didnt get the boost in TC I was hoping for so I'd rather have the pick now to try and buy a contract for the future.

I don't know how to feel. I had an amazing off-season in resigning hackney and Garland. But the best part was trading for finch who took a gigantic leap in TC along with being on a talented roster with a great passer. He has absolutely shined. I don't expect to win it all but you never know. Lakers rockets spurs could all get hurt. After that trifecta of luck, I like my chances against anyone else. So even thought I didn't win, I still won! Got a great middle aged big man who's a beast. I still have akins in his prime. And Maxwell Lewis is COMING! I got to train him big time at the trade deadline to get him 1 step away from purple. The plan is for Lewis and Finch to be the face of the team for the next 5 years. While akins can help them grow along the way. I wanted to get rid of Anas but I found a way to shed cap for a reasonable tax while still getting to heavy train Lewis. No regrets, I'm content.

Overall good. I'm happy we got under the tax without too much trouble. I like our roster build, but I am a bit confused why our team is slipping a bit lately in the playoff race. I think I just underestimated how much the Bucks and Cavaliers improved from last season so I think I got caught sleeping at the wheel. Despite the in-season struggles, I am excited to have Kamari Brown back in Toronto because I think some big changes are looming.

I feel okay about the season. Time will tell if I did enough to get a rebuild jump-started with the Bow and Flagg trades, but I do feel like I have a basic gameplan for the future outlined now. In hindsight, I think I should've just accepted defeat and traded Remy last season. That probably would've put me in a better position, as everything I don't like about my immediate future is a direct result of trying to cobble a team around him in FA. I have way too much non-essential salary on the books for a rebuilding team.

I do find it darkly humorous that I'm near the top of the non-playoff heap, despite actively trying to tank. Here's hoping for a deep draft...

At first I was disappointed. I wanted to sign a superstar to help Jonathan Isaac and Devin Vassell. However, I lost my bids during UFA. I was forced to resign Raphael Gordon and Karlo Pearson.

To my surprise, I already had superstars. Isaac and Vassell are legit beastmode! I expect the Cavs to get better. Overall I'm very happy to be much better than K100 and AB.

I am very happy with the action I had this season!
I been Wheelin and Dealin since the beginning.
To be honest, I didn't think that much motion was even out there.
Got about half way out my hole and looking to run it back next season.
Won't be starting with the #1 pick this time, but looking to get some things done none the less.
I did have a trade that I missed, and thought twice about, but I then made my deadline trade which was a better move for me.
So Yeah, We Gucci in MIA

If you gave an extra point to be the first one to answer, Doug would be on time every time.
