#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

If you do not check you sim league DMs a full 24 hrs before Trade Deadline, you should be automatically & immediately disqualified from your position as GM. This rule would supersede check ins, off season activity requirements, etc.

Understandable, but a bit excessive imo. I think rules around regularly checking in are good, even rules around responding to trade proposals, but one-and-done dismissals will destroy sim league. This is the first time in sim memory where we have a full roster of active-enough GMs that someone is ready to take over a team, and there's no team to take over, so I think we're in unique territory right now. Overall engagement is more peak than valley, in other words, and I don't want to wreck that.

But progressive penalty is another thing. Holding GMs to irregular (see: not every sim) deadlines is a pain. I think if a GM demonstrates another GM has 'ghosted' a trade-deadline trade proposal, that GM could be docked, say, 5pts? 10pts? Double for 2nd infraction? Dismissal for 3rd? Though, realistically, that GM may have already ghosted the league by that 3rd...

Certainly worthy of discussion. I'd be open to getting a bit more specific with parameters and putting it to a vote, but I would vote against Doug's initial proposal, fyi.

Nobody gives a shit about overpriced contracts to bail out other GMs, immediate cut bench bums, or fake blues that average 9 points a game. That's why they just ignore because it's the same trash talent every season minus one or two big move trades.

Facts, I’m rambling about facts. Other than a few big trades here and there the rest are mainly just contract dumps and musical chairs for mid talent.
