Good morning, everyone. I'm RPF (Real Pelicans Fan), General Manager of the Brooklyn Nets. We're excited to be here today to talk about the upcoming season.

We had a lot of success last year, but we know that we can't rest on our laurels. We've got a lot of work to do if we want to get back into the post season.

One of the biggest challenges we'll face this year is the absence of James Andrews. James is a great player, and we'll miss his scoring, defense, and rebounding. But we're confident that our other guys will step up and fill the void.

We've got a lot of talented players on this roster. Jose Alvarado, Ron Harper Jr, and Alfredo Menendez are all All-Star caliber players. And we've got a lot of youth, too. Ervin Dendy, Denver Weller, and Steven Ray are all guys who can contribute as well.

We're not making any predictions about this year. We know that it's going to be a tough season, but we're confident that we have the team to compete for the division championship.

With that being said, I'll open the floor to questions from the press....

With players leaving for other teams, what player is the leader of the Nets this season?

GWR: When you drafted these teams into your division, who did you see as your biggest threat in the division? With changes in the offseason, did that answer change as well?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: In a season where you can only offer mins to free agents, what were you looking for in terms of skillsets to round out your team this way?

I think it's Jose, he emerged during training camp and we are excited to see what he does.

I saw the Pistons as the biggest threat but after this pre-season the Pelicans have the whole league on notice.

We wanted to get some young, hungry, scrappy players in here. You know the kind, thrives in high-pressure situations...very unselfish...very high basketball IQ...tough, physical player that doesn't shy away from contact...gym rat, always focused on improving his game...smart, well-spoken kid that always seems to impress in his interviews.

Your tax situation has made things a bit sticky regarding roster construction and your ability to compete at the levels you're used to. On top of that, you don't own your 1st Round pick. How does that alter your approach to the season?
