Rules: 1 point if you give a thoughtful answer to the question, which I will award after the timer ends for responses.
Due before Sim 2 is run.
QUESTION #2:
Looking back at the draft, which rookie do you think will be the steal of the draft? (Should have been drafted earlier) How much earlier? Was it a second rounder? What makes you think they will be good in the long run?

Tony Newland, PF, Spurs
#15 overall
This is 100% a hindsight/TC bump pick because without it, he was drafted in a perfectly acceptable position. However, after TC, he's a blue potential big man with 3 A's and 2 B's, all in places you'd like them to be for his position. The B potential 3PS actually is a bonus but makes a ton of sense since he's a listed PF but has SF athleticism, so he will be able to have great position flex, especially if he starts getting some proper Trainings in. It's possible he will get to play meaningful, WINNING minutes relatively quickly too since he's older and more advanced for a rookie.

Gradey Dick, SF, Pelicans
#8 Overall
I believe that Gradey Dick was the last blue picked, and there were definitely blue potential players drafted ahead of him who probably shouldn't have been. Dick is a 6'10 player with the athleticism to play 2-4 and has a plethora of skills in the C range. His only A is in INS (which is important because it means he'll be an efficient scorer at the very least), his only B is in PSD, and aside from HND/PAS (can't play point) and BLK, he has C's everywhere else. He reminds me a lot of PBSL Jimmy Butler with all those C's, except he's a lot taller, and Butler was able to play some formidable, high scoring seasons at his peak.
With revamped training (or possible TC luck), Darth can build Gradey Dick to specialize at any of the positions he's suited to play. 25 points to either JPS or 3PS, and he's a scoring machine. Knock up PRD or STL to make him a versatile lockdown defender. The possibilities are pretty wide open for Dick, and he's got plenty of time to develop on a team with a lot of youth where flexibility will be a huge asset.

Eddie Cruce, SF, Washington Wizards
#30 overall
Cruce was an instant 2nd round cut for the Grizzlies but was one of the unsung winners of TC who benefitted greatly from a boost and was re-drafted #2 in the free-for-all by the Wizards. Hindsight is 20/20 but
Cruce's draft profile showed he was a capable 3&D PF that might have fetched a point or two if I tried hard enough. But I decided to go after some other prospects and cut him without too much thought. Cruce is not going to win Rookie of the Year, but I could see him fetching a couple extra million dollars next offseason because of this newfound scoring potential.

Brian Sechrist
http://pbsl.ijbl.net/players/player480.htm
Center - Indiana Pacers
Drafted #22
I think Sechrist was a steal by the Pacers. He has great size at 7'2 and is 40+ in both QKN and JMP. He has a lot of good defensive potentials too, particularly at BLK, ORB, and PSD. He does not do much offensively but he is a good free throw shooter so if he does get hacked, he will at least be reliable at the charity stripe. Overall, he will be a serviceable reserve for the Pacers and once they shed all of their older player contracts may get to stick around and play with Herbert Jones as they grow up together.

Let me be selfish here and say
Chane Behanan. He was apart of the AB trade, and dang it if I am not going to try to get the most out of my return. He is a young prospect that has a super high ceiling. With the only F coming in Passing, and having a high prospects in the areas of importance for a big man: INS, DRB, BLK, and STR. He has the added benefit of having a B in HND and a 40 QKN and is all of 19 years old. I believe that long term, with the care of TC and paid trainings, he can turn into a top end post player that can wreak havoc on both sides of the court.

I am going to be bias of course and go with Tony Newland. He's a steal because we got him for 5 points. Also because of him getting a bump in training camp. My though when drafting him that he would be a athletic rotational play off the bench. He still can end up being that but going from green to blue potential made me put him in the starting line up day one. I think he can become something special with a little added training in certain areas. He is going to benefit on my team because there are opportunities for young guys to get significant minutes. The experience can make him better and hopefully that will translate into another really good TC for him.
