Mavs Presser - Try Again

The calendar is officially my enemy. We missed the deadline to opt out of team options last season and suffered the consequences. The good news is that if anyone is trying to move expensive players, we have plenty of contracts to match contracts.

The main things that happened this off-season:
The draft went great. We got one of the best players in the draft, but as in typical Mavericks fashion, Candice Parker won't be ready for a few years.

Trade pickups: Kyle Kuric. We got a very reasonable deal Kyle Kuric. Shout out to the Magic; they are excellent trade partners.

Restricted free agency was expected, Thomas Walker signed with us, but the Lakers weren't about to let him walk for free, so we took our shot and missed.

UFA was ok. We signed our priority player Terrence Lewis-Weeks back. We also got some decent young players at vet min contracts.

TC went great everybody improved, and we are one year close to being a good team.

In total, we should be better than last year and might make the playoffs. We are still young and up and coming.

We are looking for the coveted blue rookie contracts and are willing to move the following win-now players: Terrance Lewis-Weeks, and Clarence Martin.

Did Martin and TLW have their tvs on for today’s presser? How is their morale learning that they are tradeable? What does the Mavs season look like if they leave?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: It seems like there could be a lot of competition for starting spots in your frontcourt. What will you be looking out for in terms of solidifying a starting PF and C?

Where do you feel you realistically will fall in the standing?

What was the idea that went into acquiring a wing talent like Kyle Kuric?

Kyle Kuric will help me get a few wins and I got a good deal on him. We are a high powered offense and he fits that bill. Also, I like the churn. Maybe I can move him for a PF or a Center.

Maybe I make the playoffs this year? I hope, but my division is crazy good. Suns, Lakers, Bucks...Frye.

I'm looking for a say a rebounding, defender with a little bit of scoring you know a Darrell Hackney type player. To bad I traded him away a few years ago.

The moral is low. Late last season, we moved Richie Cuevas and ended an era. Now its time to move Weeks and Martin for some younger talent. If they leave, we will be at the bottom again unless someone wants to trade for an up-and-coming center.
