Rules: 1 point if you give a thoughtful answer to the question, which I will award after the timer ends for responses.

QUESTION #2: LEGIT OR MIRAGE- NAME ONE THING (PLAYER OR TEAM) FROM SIM 1 RESULTS THAT YOU BELIEVE IS LEGIT AND ANOTHER THAT IS A MIRAGE.

Responses close when Sim 2 is run!

Legit - The Jazz. They are 100% percent, grade A horse shit. @digiskunk hurry up and do your bank so you can pay off your tax and fix this. WOOF.

Mirage - THIS IS NOT A SLIGHT AGAINST THE NETS. I just want to preface this with that. I LOVE YOU, ED! I'M NOT BEING CRITICAL OF YOUR TEAM. I think the Nets are for real. They lost nothing really in the offseason and added an absolute defensive stud next to James Andrews. Alvarado and Caruso are terrors on the perimeter. THAT SAID, I don't think they can keep up this rate of winning (currently undefeated). The schedule to start this season was super light (only 2 teams with winning schedules, and one of those being my Pistons who are kinda meh). Also, 7 of the 8 games were home games. With the next 2 sims having 11 of 17 games on the road, this will be the real test for the Nets. I still think through 3 sims that this team will be at the top of the division... but I just don't see them being the top team in the conference after 3 sims.

Legit: Blakeney leading the league in scoring and getting Player of the Week. This will be a year long thing if I am lucky.

Un-Legit: 30 point diff for the Nets is up there for sure, and I will let someone else go into details for that. For me, short and simple, it is the Trailblazers have a starting five that are all over 42 mins a game. There is no way that the starting five will sustain that. Something will eventually give in this situation, not sure what but something will.

Legit: Pacers and Wizards...will they win their divisions? I wouldn't bet on it straight up, but they'll both be in the mix. These teams always seem to start strong, and the Wizards seem to stay stronger than their team looks on paper. Sure, they both cleaned up at home this first sim, but both teams are run by GMs who'd rather compete every season than tank and truly rebuild.

Mirage: The entire Boban division. The Cavs won't finish second, the Heat won't finish last. The Raptors won't finish in the bottom half. I feel like the only team that MIGHT finish where they are is the Magic, but they could easily fall into that last spot. It's the Division that's going to look the most different at the end of the season.

Legit: The rebounding leaders. I don't necessarily believe that the numbers will all remain quite as high and the order is certainly no lock to stay the same, but the top 5 is filled with players we know are elite rebounders and will maintain a steady pace all season. The Trailblazers front court is especially going to clean up the glass.

Mirage: This wacky ass 3 point leaders list. Two of the top 3 currently have 3PS ratings below 70, which tells me they won't be shooting 68% from 3 all season. Armitage, Fang are legit shooters and could maintain a good pace all season but these percentages will certainly dip. The Bucks big fella, Ware, is also sitting near the top with roughly 50% from 3, and he's got a 3PS rating below 50. A shakeup here is coming fast.

I think the biggest problem is, if you wait a while, a lot of the good answers are already taken...

Legit: Top 3 teams in Folse Hope division (cant wait for a restructure to get rid of this horrible division name!). While I think the Nuggets will take the top spot, and I the 2nd spot, I can't rule out the Wizards upsetting this prediction. Xist always exceeds expectations. Where I see a roster full of wings, Xist leads a team undefeated. It's really impressive. I think once he makes some moves to balance out this roster, he may have me and maybe even the Nuggies beat, too.

Mirage: Trailblazers starting 5 longevity. It's been touched upon already. I think this is the biggest upgrade of any team this season, but with Grove running a starting 5 into the ground, they will need to shore up some depth from FA or somewhere to sustain this team. They will run these dudes into the ground if not careful... specifically looking at Garland, who has regularly not been able to make it through a full season without injury. And old man Folse who, while still great and not historically injury prone, could be carrying too much at this phase of his career.

You dont have to give NEW answers to these questions. You just have to give YOUR answers. I don't care if everyone has the same answer, the points aren't based on that.

Fair enough, thanks for the clarity Mamba. In that case, someone take the time to expand on this one - the Rockets recent activity. Legit or mirage??

LEGIT: Orlando Magic are BAD, you could make a case for them having the best starting frontcourt in the league with Schiff and Dirks but besides Kuric theres nothing on that roster worth a damn and with RoboGM3 running the show that franchise is looking at a potential #1 overall draft pick

MIRAGE: The rough start for the Grizzlies, the defending champs started the season with a long road trip going 0-7. I dont project them to be at the bottom of the conference like they are at the moment. I think theres more talent here than in Houston and Charlotte for comparison

Legit
Toronto's struggle to find an offensive identity in a post-Mobley world. GM PP1 has a lot to be proud of in his young career but there will be some growing pains like we saw in Sim 1 in learning how to adjust the offense without Mobley. I think Honeycutt is more than capable of shouldering the scoring load but there will be nights when he is off or just up against a stingy defense. I dont know who you draw up the shot for on those kind of nights. Liddell and Quincy are going to be the guy one day but right now they are still developing their jumpshots.

Mirage
Challenge accepted Greeple. The recent Rockets activity. Dont get me wrong, happy to see it. Hope the dude sticks around but I expect the Rockets GM to finish counting the points, pay the tax bills off, and peace out for a bit again. But who cares? Life happens and we get busy. No big deal. On the bright side, Sion James does not hit RFA until the end of S65, roughly September 2023 IRL. Plenty of time to check out and then get interested again when you need to match his inevitable max deal.

LEGIT: Darius Garland is going to run away with the Assists King title. I expect him to finish the season with at least 13 per game. I hope the Blazers give him some rest too. Save the best for the playoffs.

MIRAGE: The Miami Heat are talking about making the playoffs again but expect them to be big sellers at the deadline. This team had a fun ride but now it is time to face reality. Their title window slammed shut a long time ago. SELL, SELL, SELL!

LEGIT: Johnny Davis, Elite Scorer
I've been watching Davis ever since Syndicate drafted him. While he's turned into an excellent scorer, I think the general expectation was that as his team improved, his scoring would drop from his 29 ppg 3rd season. And while the 26 and 24 ppg seasons he followed up that season with seemingly confirmed that, his 28 ppg start to the season is a signal that no, Davis is just that damn good at putting the ball in the basket. Even with Jarrett averaging 19 ppg and James/Garland averaging 17 each, Davis is still dominating offensively. Expect Davis to be a multiple-time Scoring King once it's all said and done.

MIRAGE: Raptors 3:6(teen)
While I know Penny isn't happy with this start, Penny should not be worried. Of the 6 losses to begin the season, only one (the loss to the Jazz) is one I'd consider a concerning loss. Other than that, they won when they were the favorites, lost when they were the underdog, and...also lost when it could've gone either way. But that's okay, 50/50 games are the easiest to fix. Penny just needs to tinker with the gameplan and maybe the bench rotation (via either trade or shifting minutes), and the Raptors should be right back in the mix. They're too solid a starting 5 not to be.
