Who Fit 2 Drive This Cah??

We tryin to get busy out here. Finally feel like a strong nucleus is moving in the right direction. I know last season, when we shipped out a lot of young potential to land Bates and Leathers, the instant impact was underwhelming. Believe me I noticed too. But we knew there was, and still is HUGE space for growth. And we're excited about team chemistry, ability, and cohesion. What we can't figure out, is why every free agent point guard worth his weight passed on the opportunity to lead the league in assists.
So we're still working on an upgrade. With that said, we do have confidence that Blakemore still has a lil something in the tank, and that Jordan Poole can produce at a clip that defies some of his current measurables. We will be tactical about how we approach moves in season, because we think this is just a warm up. We intend to compete at an increasing level for the next few seasons. We think this crew can grow together.
We are very excited to have landed Raiquan Gray. That guy is a complete stud! We certainly look forward to putting our front-court against any in the league, and see just where we stand. Aside from the Marco Delgado hazing incident, where he was apparently castrated during training camp, we're also very pleased with our depth. We feel the front-court is easily 7 deep with quality players, and we won't be shy about throwing bodies around, and catchin a few too.
Just let me know if I'm crazy

The defense reigned supreme in Miami this preseason. Do you think those successes are going to continue once the season rolls around?

What is it about Gray's game that made you feel he was worth bringing him on-board?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Do you have any concrete expectations for this team in terms of total wins, playoff position, or any other goals?

You're crazy. Definitely crazy.
...but you've put together a decent team. We both thought you had assembled a quality crew with our deal last year and that did not pan out, unfortunately. If that were to happen again (fingers crossed it doesn't and I do NOT mean to will it by asking), what would you do differently, if anything? Is Gray the star, or is it Bates time to step up?

Ever since the move to acquire Immanuel Quickley, we have been trying to seek out two way players.
We do feel our team defense should take a big step forward.

Raiquan Gray is a BULLY!
That guy stands over guys tappin his head after he dunks on em.
He shoves guys out of bounds and into the stands after blocking their shots.
Luigi Leathers put down a demo swattin shots last season, but we thought we could turn a corner by adding, not only a great talent who is a walking bucket, but also a veteran leader with a nasty chip on his shoulder.
Couldn't ask for a better model of nasty blue collar work ethic.

To be clear, we're not in a rush.
We know that all of these guys are approaching prime.
We don't feel any pressure, but we are very optimistic about taking a huge step towards title contention.
That being said we want at least 45 wins.
We know that team in Chiraq is tough, but we intend to compete for the Boban division.
Hope to finish in the top 5 in the conference,
And we will win a playoff series!

Again, this season is not win or bust.
We feel we are set up nicely for a three season window, and we have room to be patient.
Nothing is guaranteed, and you can't pass on great opportunities to add generational pieces, but there is also something to be said about accumulating solid potential, and developing it into great talent.
Raiquan Gray is a monster, but Emoni Bates is another level.
The camp he just had speaks volumes to his commitment to be an elite player in this league.
His versatility will carry this franchise to it's highest heights.
We only go as far as he leads us.

Ha - PGs “passed” on your offer. I like it.
Is there a PG you were targeting in the offseason you still would have rather had than Poole?

This is a very good question.
Or maybe I invested so much energy into trying to work something out, that it validates my effort.
I was in talks with around seven teams, about a dozen possibilities.
I bid generously with the MLE, but Marco Delgado hit a lick before six PGs signed for much less than I offered.
That Bum got me like that horse vitamin meth -
you know the one.
The second round hurt even more cause I saw three and four PG's sign for min with other teams.
What kind of fentanyl laced wet dream are they sellin in Utah?!?
I don't know, but I'm still hustling to improve, even marginally.
