Scott.

I'll just copy & paste what I wrote in my article ha

Part of me wants to go with Gary or JL for the Jazz or Cavs since they have upped their game so much and took big swings.  However, this is not the award for most surprising GM or a pat on the back award.  So, there is no other choice for me here than Scott running his Pistons.  If not for injuries, this is likely a historic season in terms of wins.  Hell, there is a very good chance that it still ends up that way if Scott decides not to be injury cautious and plays all his starters down the stretch.  He could have comfortable stood pat this off-season as well and probably still been the top team in the league and the eventual champion, but he threw caution to the wind and took on Frank Daily’s massive contract and build the Dark Avengers of a roster, future tax concerns be damned.

Let's get some new blood nominated, shall we?

I nominate jlmarines.

Face it, you wish you thought to do it, too. While Scott seems to be a lock due to a historic season of PBSL, jlmarines has spent the entirety of his career trying to build a solid team and finally found the right pieces to push him over the top - and most importantly in trading for Michael Sneed.

He boosted his chances making some savvy vet signings in James Wiseman and Chadwick Dangerfield (decline that wiseman option though, sir - just my opinion though). He swept his most recent road trip and could very well win most of his next road trip as well to cap off the season with 50 wins.

Now look at this team. Seriously and no disrespect, does this look like a 50-win team to you? It's a lot of green and not a lot of blue, and while colors don't mean everything, it does take some skill to put together a 50 win team built of mostly greens and a star blue in Sneed.

And upgrading before the deadline for Cam Ron Fletcher? For 3 points, role players and a possibly mediocre 2049 pick if jlmarines keeps this momentum into next season? Chef's kiss. I'm happy for this guy and you should vote for him too.
Somehow I manage.

I nominate the Spurs GM. Last time the Spurs did not make it to the playoffs was about 10 seasons ago. Very impressive to continue to win so long. Just when you think Spurs GM will get in tax trouble, some how he figures things out and continues to dominate.

Gary of the Jazz

He built a very strong team over the summer, when no one expected him to compete. Sustained a major injury for Wade, but still had a very solid season. Kim and Wade were solid all around, and I think the Jazz could make an argument for winning it all based on what Gary did.

I'm gonna nominate our beloved commissioner, MexicanMamba.

Usually commissioners get no love in GMOY, but Rodrigo's been building this team for a while, and they're a very good team that battled a handful of injuries this season--#1 in the conference that is indisputably the harder conference to win in. They have a great young core with Gray, Bone, and Pearson that's just been peaking and have been able to get the most out of veteran players like Danny Campbell and Luguentz Dort--players who, at their ages, most GMs would be scrambling to get rid of. Maybe Dort's MVP season will show that he was worth his contract the whole time, even years after losing that purple current.

He did this all without having to give up Safi, so he has an incredible prospect stashed away for the next run.
