S58 76ers Presser

Hello from tax hell,
Last season went as expected. Geronimo passed the ball. A lot. Delmar and Reginald scored. A lot. And the 76ers lost. A lot.
Such is sim.
Looking forward, I am not quite sure where this team is headed, to be honest. Mathurin was shipped out for points. Geronimo took a big dip in TC and Chief K bounced back from a bad TC last season but is still quite raw. I really like Akok Akok as a potential unicorn threat, but he is still years away from any meaningful contribution. All that to say, will any of these dudes be on the roster in 2-3 seasons? Hopefully yes, but I'm just not sure yet.
This season will be much like last. Try and churn some points dealing these vet mins to contenders, run Streak 4 Sim, troll jlmarines on the meme thread, and hand out some hardware come Awards season. I'm about 125 points away from this paying off this debt so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In the meantime, my goal is to save face and not finish last in the division. Not quite sure what the starting lineup is just yet, but I hope to win at least 20 games this season. The Cavs will at least be our first win during sim 1. Guarantee it.

It seems that, while you've been bad, you've avoided being a complete shitshow like the Hawks and Blazers currently are. Because of this, you've missed out on opportunities to get extremely valuable draft picks to churn more points out of. Would it be wise for you to finally decide to complete a full tank-a-thon to go hard at a top pick?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: After a few seasons in tax jail, has the sentence gone as expected? What have you learned about the game as a whole by being handcuffed by tax penalties?

Have you considered dishing out any non-meme media this season to get out of tax hell? If not, why, and if so, what kind of content could we expect? Last year's draft write up was a pretty decent read.

Chet Youbetcha Dimmadome News: How do you see the Maravich division shaking out? Can you give a prediction for each team and why you think that?

Justin Bieber, Teremana.com: De La Rosa had a terrible TC. If things don't get well this year, any consideration for De La Rosa to be in the hot seat for a potential trade?

tank season is in full swing. But to be honest, I dont mind missing out so far on the prospect classes from the last few seasons. There are some definite budding stars I wish I had, but one thing I liked about grabbing Geronimo and Chief K a little bit later in the draft was that it made their RFA paydays my new target date to finish paying off this debt. It has definitely helped me stay engaged so I think that is worth the opportunity cost of foregoing some points here and there just by wheeling and dealing on draft days.

yeah, it has gone pretty much how I expected it would but early on I was pleasantly surprised when Mamba took over as commish and started engaging with folks about rule changes. Somebody floated an idea about debt forgiveness and I was just sitting there thinking...nice. As everyone knows those talks did not pan out, much like the last time the topic was seriously considered so after that I just decided to tackle the debt just like every other GM in tax jail ever did before. Stay active and trade.
I think my player scouting on the UFA side has gotten better. I have been able to pull off a handful of those Wig blue-light specials so far that have been flipped for points/prospects or gotten me points come awards time. It just pays to sometimes be lucky and find those diamonds in the rough. I think once I get out of tax jail and compete again, I'll definitely be more willing to be more aggressive and cash-in prospects for win-now players like the other savvy GMs do on the regular. I've built a winner from scratch and it took FOREVER. Not doing that again. Plus, I want to win #2 before SuperDog, AngryBanana, and failmarines even sniff #1.

Thank you! I appreciate that. I'm pretty positive I will not do any non-meme media this season. My memes are already terrible so I figure let's not also make the article/podcast feed terrible too. Hopefully soon, I'll have an idea I'd like to see produced and I'll do it. Just not yet. But rest assured, if the tax bill only needs a couple of points to cover, I'll sell out and produce something extra bad just to take me over the finish line.

Cannot wait to see how wrong I am about this stuff.
Kings (54-28) - SuperDog's gameplan is boring. But boring works. Give the ball to Killian Hayes
Jazz (51-31) - Happy to see the Jazz back in the winner's circle. But that bench is meh
Magic (49-33) - So much yellow. F9 is prepping for day 60. I know it
Cavs (46-36) - Disgusting. Cannot wait to see the Cavs get swept again in the playoffs
Thunder (42-40) - Thunder are better than this but I think AB cashes out to get his Anas lifted
Wizards (26-56) - If Xist makes the playoffs again this season then he is Harry Potter
76ers (16-66) - yikes

100% - there are no untouchables on this roster. Some players just need to be paid a little extra sugar before touching begins.

What's the point of it all? Emphasis on points. Are points even worth it?
