Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome our GM jlmarines.

GM jlmarines: Last season we won 27 games. We had a total 4 players classified as "blue". I wasn't expecting 1st seed, but a minimum 40 win season would have been a success. As a team we totally failed our expectation. It was obvious "blue" players doesn't translate to a playoff berth. I have few players that are overrated, that's for sure.

GM jlmarines: Last season our opponent was averaging 112 pts per game. This offseason, our primary goal was to upgrade our defense. We signed solid green players that brings a specific attribute skill set on the defensive side. We signed PF Jeffery Jackson, C Barney Wagers, PG David McCafferty, SG Harland Cain, and SG Norris Turney. All our veteran players we signed, have excellent defensive attributes. There's no question I have confidence our new addition players will help improve our defense. PF Mills had a monster upgrade during training camp. We expect PF Mills to have breakout season and provide depth to our team. I am disappointed on C Tilton and SG Barnes, however I have confidence they will have a better year surrounded by better players on the roster.

GM jlmarines: Lastly, we are very pleased with our rookie PF Jalen Warley. Warley had the best TC for the entire team. I think it's a name the league should remember. We expect great things from PF Warley very soon. Overall, if you look at our entire roster, Cavs have a solid 10 man rotation. We expect to win more than 30 games that's for sure.

GM jlmarines: Here's our starting lineup for the current moment:

C Eloy Tilton
C Barney Wagers
PF Jeffery Jackson
PF Theron Lowe
SF Jere Bailey
SF Norris Turney
SG Scottie Barnes
SG Harland Cain
PG Teddy Dizon
PG David McCafferty

You mentioned a potential breakout season for Caleb Mills, yet he does not crack the first 10 in your projected depth chart. Do you see yourself selling some of the vets on day 60 to make room for him as the season progresses?

And a wise GM suggested training Warley early and often. If you do train Warley, what do you want him to focus on as he gets ready to play in future seasons?

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: While you're making defense a priority, nobody on your team averaged more than 15 points a game last year. Where is your offense going to come from and who's going to get the ball in their hands when it matters the most?

You've never had season as a GM- does that make you press a little more towards using more proactive means of acquiring talent like trading for some win-now talent in a weaker conference?

Who on your team establishes a strong defensive core and who is your leader on the other end of the floor? Who would you pick, if you had the choice of any current player, to compliment those two?

Yes and Yes. There will be many changes on Day 60. Mills will definitely play a bigger role as the season progress.

Warley is the future. He will redshirt and I plan to train him. I expect sophomore of the year next season. I'm excited to have Warley on the team. Thanks for the great question.

I was totally disappointed on Scottie Barnes last year. I was expecting a big year. During preseason Barnes average 23 pts per game. That's what I expected. I hope it translates to the regular season. If Barnes continue averaging more than 20 pts, I might surprise few folks in the league. Thank you for the question.

Yes. I am open for trades. Unfortunately, I've made some few bad trades during my first few seasons, lately I'm getting bad offers by other GMs. I rather just keep my players. But I'm open for trades were both sides wins.

On defense, Jeffery Jackson is my leader. On offense, I'm hoping Scottie Barnes will prove me wrong and have a great year.

I expect SF Jere Bailey and SG Harland Cain play a huge role providing depth and help the team overall. Thank you great question.

You've mentioned making bad trades in the past. What lessons have you taken from those missteps that you feel better prepare you for trade discussions in the future?

Great question. When scouting players I just focused on colors during my first few seasons. I regret few trades. I was forced to pay more attention to players age, salary, and attributes. Unfortunately, few trades caused me to fall behind for a few seasons. It's all good though. I'm 7-1 against 76ers, last 2 seasons. That's awesome.

Can you take us into your heated rivalry with the 76ers? What is it about K100 that makes you love to beat his squad?

I'm basically angrybanana & k100 older handsome brother. The one that gets the girls, better in Madden, better in sports, 0% body fat, and voted in high school as most likely to succeed.

For the first time ever, those jerks are better than me on something. There's no denying, I'm struggling in SIM. It heals the soul whenever I win a game in SIM. The struggle is real. Alcohol has been my friend lately. I just want to have a winning record.

Is there a reason the Cavs like to trade with the 76ers and Thunder? They always seem to get the better end of the deal even when they are not trying.

I haven't made any significant trades in the last few seasons with both teams.
