#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome our GM jlmarines.

GM jlmarines: Last season we won 29 games. For those that didn't pay attention, injuries hurt our chance for a playoff spot. Our superstar Scottie Barnes missed 31 games. Our showstopper Eloy Tilton missed 18 games. Our young stud Cam Ron Fletcher missed 25 games. During mid season we traded for a solid starter SG Jere Bailey to stop the bleeding. However, it was too much injuries to overcome. We had no chance for the playoffs.

GM jlmarines: This offseason, our primary goal was to build depth and prevent injuries to ruin our playoffs chance. This year we build a team to support our 3 monster studs which are C Tilton, SG/SF Barnes, and SF Fletcher. We signed solid green players that brings a specific attribute skill set. We signed C Jerry Jordan, C Charles Johnson, PF Homer Huckaby, PG Lloyd Hasty, SG Matthew Cleveland, and lastly PF Theron Lowe. Of all our veteran players we signed, we are most excited on Theron Lowe. PF Lowe had a monster upgrade during training camp and earned a starting spot. We expect PF Lowe to have breakout season. If injuries become an issue again, we will be ready this time.

GM jlmarines: Lastly, we are very pleased with PG Cassius Winston. Winston provided leadership that the Cavs have been lacking. We felt it was unfair for Winstn to carry the team by himself. Help has arrived. We are confidence Winston will continue to play at a elite level with talented players around him. Overall, if you look at our entire roster, Cavs have a solid 10 man rotation. We expect to be a playoff contender.

GM jlmarines: We look forward to the season. I really think we are much better as a team, especially better than 76ers. I heard 76ers have no money left to pay for water and utilities bills. Anyways, here's our starting lineup:

You definitely have a more well rounded team this year, but Cassius took a major tumble in TC. How does this impact the team overall?

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: Your team went 0-3 in away games. Do you think that will happen this season? Especially when facing your in division rivals of the 76ers, Kings, and Thunder?

It did impacted our team. We went from a guarantee spot in the playoffs to maybe a contender for the 6th or 7th seed. However, we are confidence Winston will play at a high level. He might not make it to the all-star game but that's fine. We are hoping he can give us 30 minutes per game. Overall, Winston still is a top 10 PG in our league. Thanks for the great question.

Preseason is weird. Not too concerned yet. My top SF and PF was in the bench during preseason. Once I start PF Lowe and SF Fletcher, I think the outcome will be different from 0-3 record on the away games. I'm definitely, not worried about the76ers, horrible GM in Philly. I do look forward for a major battle between Thunder and Kings. Thanks for the question.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: With the Cavs still trying for their first playoff appearance, are there teams you've looked to model yourself after that you think are good examples of how to get it done? What did you see them doing that you'd like to try and emulate?

Cassius Winston and Eloy Tilton take up over 60% of the Cavaliers' salary cap this season and have $130M in guaranteed salary against your cap next season too. How do you plan to work around these big salaries to add more talent to your squad and strengthen your chances at making the playoffs?

That's a tough question. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to focus on other GMs. Unless it's K100 and Angrybanana. Can't wait to destroy K100. For example, I noticed the Clippers are very good and very active. Honestly, I can't keep up, you know with work and family. If I start getting in tax penalties, that probably means, I'll have to write articles or submit more memes. In my case, I just don't have the time. Therefore, I try to be conservative when spending. Don't want to end up in tax jail forever.

I guess to answer your question I'll probably go with either Pacers or Wizards GM. I do noticed their teams are not elite with ridiculous team salary, however they make it to the playoffs. I think the Wizards are very balanced. I understand, I need to spend some more. But right now, I'm trying to learn to build a complete team that will make it to the playoffs. I think the Wizards have done a solid job with a few blue, and mostly green players on the roster. Right now, that's my goal. Make it to the playoffs. Thanks for the question.

Right now, my primary goal is to have a winning record. I'm not focus on Winston salary cap. However, I did noticed Winston had a terrible TC. I think this year will be his final year playing at a elite level. After this season, I'm open for trades. I just need to find the right team that will potentially accept Winston or even Tilton. This year will be very crucial for both players. If they don't produce, both players will be in the market and maybe available for trades. Thanks for the question.
