Welcome to the Cavs Preseason Presser. We are pleased to welcome our GM jlmarines.
GM jlmarines: Last season we struggle to score points as a team, we averaged 108 pts per game. This offseason, we focused on getting players that can score points. Our weakest position was PG. We are pleased to sign PG Cassius Winston. Winston will provide the leadership that the Cavs been lacking. We expect Winston will make Scottie Barnes a better player overall. We are freaking excited about Barnes. This is Barnes team, Barnes had an outstanding season and a major upgrade during training camp. We are confidence Barnes will be selected to the All-Star game. Eloy Tilton was beastmode last season. Tilton had a breakout season. Tilton finally learned to keep his fouls down and average almost 20 points per season. The scary part, Tilton got better during training camp. We are confidence Tilton will have a monster season. During this offseason we signed solid veterans that will provide solid depth. We are excited to bring back Ronald Jordan. Jordan can play both guard positions. We also signed PF Rene Pfaff and PF Jeffery Jackson. Both Pfaff and Jackson had a monster upgrade during training camp and both have solid defensive attribute skills. Overall, if you look at our entire roster, Cavs have a solid 8 man rotation.
GM jlmarines: I am pleased we were able to draft 1st round pick PF Caleb Mills. Mills is quick and has big time potential. We believe Mills will be a top defender in the league. Lastly, we lost Brandon Boston. We moved Boston all over the roster. Boston played the PG, SG, and SF position. No matter where we put Boston on the lineup, Boston never scored more than 23 points per game. We believe with the addition of Winston, Cavs will definitely score more than 108 points per game. I think we will surprise the league.
GM jlmarines: We look forward to the season. I really think we are much better as a team. Here's our starting 5:
C Eloy Tilton
PF Jeffery Jackson
SF Cam'Ron Fletcher
SG Scottie Barnes
PG Cassius Winston

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: What are your goals in terms of wins and conference position, and what will you need to do during the season as a GM to achieve those goals?

One of your big successes so far as the Cavs GM has been transforming Eloy Tilton from fringe starter to a Top 10 Center in sim league with paid trainings. Is there another player on the Cavs that you want to focus on as your next project?
Preseason should always be taken with a grain of salt, but one stat from your results was particularly concerning, the lack of blocked shots. The Cavs averaged only 1.0 block per game and looking at your roster it does not appear there is anyone who can quickly fix this issue, even with more playing time. Are you going to try and target players this season via trade or do you think this will be best fixed next offseason via the draft and free agency?

You are clearly optimistic about the season, but preseason results would seem to temper that enthusiasm. Do you plan on standing firm with this roster no matter the record or could you see yourself sliding into selling mode?

Great question, Goals? Well, I have never made the playoffs. First priority is to make the playoffs. Probably 45 win range will give me a chance to make it to the playoffs.
My starting 5 did great during training camp. However, my bench players did horrible. C Michael Ojo, PF Carl Thorson, PF Deandre Zimmer, and SG Ryan Adams went from Green to Yellow during training camp. If my starters don't get hurt and do well for possible 6th or 7th seed, Cavs will be shopping for Green bench players. Thank you for your question.

Yes, Scottie Barnes and Cam'Ron Fletcher. I'm not too concerned about preseason. Previous years I have done well on Preseason and still finished with a losing record. I will continue to train Barnes and Fletcher, and I expect both players to have a great year.
I prefer free agency. I don't have alot to offer in return. I think right now, draft and free agency is the current direction the Cavs will take. Thank you for the question.

I don't really pay alot attention to preseason results. I've done well on previous preseason and still finished with a losing record. For example orange player PG Andrew English was playing 8 minutes per game during preseason. English is no longer on the roster. My starting 5 were only playing 2-3 quarters per game. In my view preseason helps me to decide who to cut or keep on the team to provide depth.
At the current moment I'm staying firm. Don't plan on selling. This is the only second time I had 3 blue players. Last time I had 3 blue players it was PF Oturu, SG Connell, and SF BBJ. My current 3 blue players Winston, Fletcher, and Barnes are much better in my opinion. I think we will do better. Thank you for the great question.

What is your biggest regret with Brandon Boston? Are you happy with the way things ended? Do you feel like you should've moved on from him sooner to cash in on him?

That's easy. K-100. Next time I see him I'm going to drop kick his ass and give him a can of whoop-ass.
Yes, K-100 is better at fake basketball, but he can't beat me at drinking! Awesome question.

Yes of course. I basically lost him for nothing in return. I did my best to add solid players around him but BBJ never won games for me. It's definitely not the end for the Cavs.
Am I happy? No, but not mad neither. I saved a lot money and I'm not paying a tax penalty. I do have young prospects that I expect to have a great year. Thanks for the question.

Your team has struggled to keep talent in Cleveland whether by free agency (BBJ), trade (Hintz), or TC (Ojo, Adams). ARE YOU TRYING TO GET FIRED AS THE CAVS GM? ARE YOU HAVING FUN?

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: Your team went 0-3 in away games. Do you think that will happen this season? Especially when facing your in division rivals of the 76ers, Kings, and Thunder?
