My nomination this year is for Black Superman. First off, bu a pure W/L record they improved their team by almost 20 wins. The Suns going from fifth worse team to a playoff team is a huge jump that is hard to accomplish.

This improvement was shown by making smart decisions from the GM to improve the team instead of waiting for player development. First there are signings and draft picks. Where Avidja appears to be doing what the Rockets wanted all along, Asher already looks to be turning into a great player, and Gabuer’s contract does not look that bad as the days go by.

The Suns have also been active on the trade front gathering players who have made a good impact on the team this year. Chadwick is a great move that I nominated for trade of the year. Quackenbush was another effective trade, that both helped elevate his team and not hamper him long term. And they sent out King, who has shown that he lost a step this season, out for a blue pot player they can train up for the future.

All in all, the Suns made a concerted effort to make their team better this season, and in the future. Their transactions are showing a real feel for how they want to build a team, and they also did not mis-value any players that came in or went out in transactions in my mind.

I'd like to nominate the Pacers. They brought in some new talent aggressively in the offseason through RFA to build a new long term identity for the team. Then mid-season they weren't afraid to pay the small pittance to acquire a legitimate game changer in Mike Burnham. This trade legitimately turned his sub-.500 season around in an instant.

Vote for Pauly; he has a big ass nutsack and isn't afraid to swing it around.

Even though he nominated Mamba and not me for MEOTY for bs reasons, I gotta nominate @AngryBanana for another stellar year without going into the luxury tax. Like, not even close. Like, 5th lowest spending team in the league (did I get that one right???)

One win away from 60, leading a division that completely underwhelmed aside from the Thunder, AB is a problem for whomever he meets in the playoffs. With Wade a couple years into a supermax, Maker just starting his, Hintz hitting RFA and Tubbs returning on a bargain deal, AB is poised to have another big year following his moves this year, and should be a problem for years to come.

...But I'm still accepting offers for you to trade Maker to me fyi. I might even give you 10 points if you toss in Wade...!

Ryan

He kicked things off for himself by trading away Danny Campbell, a move which would normally signal a move back and re-build. However, the crown jewel of the deal was getting Bey, who he instantly pumped 100 points into and made him a viable win now piece. Getting another blue pot rookie in Cuevas was overkill.

And he used that piece to send back to Jon to get Gibson to finish off his big push. Free agency netted him 3 players of value to him. Johnson is a role player getting 17 minutes a night, Cucone an effective part-time starter and Ben Franklin who has been very good as a stretch 4.

The Nuggets got to 50+ wins without a purple player or a full lineup of blues. Made shrewd deals, and as a bonus was the first person to step in and try helping alleviate Josh's Commish burdens.

It's been a positive season all around!

Gonna dark horse it here and go with @K100

Really, for a 60-win team, the 76ers went under the radar, but they made a handful of smart moves to get there. Grabbing Jules Harms and Corey Brooks really rounded out his lineup and allowed him MLE access to get a deep 2nd unit behind his old big 3 and his new 2 acquisitions.

@greepleairport

how are the Lakers doing this postseason?

Les Kim - future star of the Chicago Bulls
Daniel Gamez - continuing a decade long tradition of steadfast leadership at the 1 for Indy
Burt G and Saddiq BAE - a little of SLOE past and SLOE future cooking in Denver's fryer
Mitchell + Waters sans Pastor - provided valuable depth at a fraction of the cost for LAC
Victorino Menendez - Saves Wade from playing PG for OKC
Pearman, Harms, and Thorson - Philly's frontcourt is actually not ugly anymore

Look, my détente with greeple leaves me in a weird place, but I have to recognize that no GM did more this season to alter the state of the league than the man who dons Purple and Gold. GMs who fly too close to the sun and get a little singed are what make the league great. Kudos to greeple for taking a risk. It may have backfired this season but hell at least the guy showed he will gamble.

Speaking of which, he did a great job running Pick'em. Way better than @AngryBanana ever did and he even got the results out in a timely manner. Where is $im Vegas AB?

Vote Greeple for GMOY

I nominate superdog. Kings finished with a respectful record and qualified for a playoff spot. Kings lost their star player PG Hayes due to injuries. Regardless of the injuries throughout the year, Kings were able to adapt and continue to win games without their star player. Bench players step up for the Kings this year.
