S53 Nuggets Presser

Let's face it, all. The Nuggets have been good, but not great, for...the better part of a decade now. The Danny Campbell-led build had gotten about as good as it could, and it simply wasn't as good as the championship contending teams were. Sure, I could have made the decision a couple of different times to just let guys walk, tear it down, and start anew, but we've always felt that fielding competitive-ish teams gave us a chance in the post-season. This is evidenced by fighting like heck against much better teams to win in 2037.
That said, it was time to start making moves toward our next build, and while we have a team full of talented guys, Danny Campbell was certainly the most valuable considering age, talent, and contract. We traded him to the Lakers for two very promising prospects, Saddiq Bey and Richie Cuevas, who we expect to be stalwarts of the next great Nuggets team. No comment on the rumor that on his way out of town, Danny Campbell attended a party hosted by a Nuggets season ticket holder involving illicit substances where he was quoted "I've seen god. God is not basketball. God is the yayo." Again, no comment on that. Not to be lost in the shuffle either, was the inclusion of Robert Bonnett, who we'll really miss in the post this year.
Expectations for this season? Well, we're certainly looking to the future, but we have talent here and expect to compete for a playoff spot. We brought in guys like Tony Cucone and Ben Franklin to help round out our squad. If we start out hot, look for us to assess deals to get a little better, if not, we may see some of our talented veterans move to teams where they'll have an opportunity to win a ring.
Now happy to take your questions.
