Rockets Preseason Press Conference

Post by 78# »

Hello everyone.

I don't have a whole lot to say. But we've had an interesting offseason. We drafted Corey Kispert in the first round. He projects to be a very good scorer long-term. Hopefully he pans out that way unlike Deni Avdija who panned out to be a no talent ass-clown.

We didn't look to be big spenders in FA. Our original plan was to take on contracts to get assets. However, nothing happened so we basically went all out in using our cap space and landed three stars on Miguel "Miggy" Thomas, Obi "Won Kenobi" Toppen, and Chris Ridley. We're confident in getting big production from all three and feel we can provide a better environment compared to where they came from, especially that shithole San Antonio where their biggest asset is an HEB around every corner.

We signed a bunch of one year guys after that. Look for Lawrence Runyon to place his nuts on many defenders this season with his monster dunks. Dude can flat out fly!!!!!!!!

Preseason went pretty good. 4-2 with a nice differential.

Starters

C - Thomas
PF - Runyon
SF - Kelly
SG - Ridley
PG - Toppen

It's gonna be a fun season. Buckle up everyone, lock your doors, hide your children. Rockets are coming. Be ready.

You had three big FA signings in Thomas, Ridley and Toppin. Which will have the biggest impact on the Rockets this season and why?
Somehow I manage.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: After making 3 big win now signings on day 1 of free agency, what is the goal for the season, and what work do you have left to do to get there?

I'm gonna quote your quote with a quote. You damn right I am. But I really don't know what i'm doing when it comes to setting up my DC and gameplan.

I'm going to say Obi Toppin. He will be asked to do the most especially scoring and running the point. We really need him to explode on defenders and getting the offense going.

We were really happy on day 1 of free agency, but really didn't have a good rest of the offseason. We could have bolstered up our depth but underbid on several players. Look for a trade if we feel really good about our team.
