Good afternoon and welcome to the San Antonio Spurs Preseason press conference. First off we would like to think our fans for being so patient with the team's goal of winning another title for the city of San Antonio. The championship run last season was tough but the team did enough to get it done, from coming back from being down 0-3 to the champs to being a Fox injury away from blowing my own 3-0 lead in the finals. The championship would not have happened if it was for what IMO are both trades of the year, getting OG from the T-Wolves and Miguel Thomas from the Bulls. Without those two coming aboard this team would not have sniffed the finals. Last year was a success for our organization. Winning a title and sending one of the league greats BDJ off into retirement with a ring with the team that he started his career with was nice to witness. I know these are fake players but him winning made me happy. Also Yan winning League and finals MVP was cool too. Hope we made the spurs fan proud.

Moving on to this upcoming season we lost one of our Key players Miguel Thomas in free agency to our rivals the Houston Rockets. We wish him the best of luck with 78 and the rockets. We are hoping to make another title run but this season will be a tough one with teams getting better and some making big moves. We hope the players we have here can get the job done. I like what I've seen from the TC results. it seems like everyone is putting in work for another potential run. We will try our best to keep these guys focused. With that said if anyone have questions, ask away.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Congratulations on winning your 4th ring! With that being said, what are the biggest obstacles, both in your team and with other teams, that would keep you from repeating, and how do you plan to address them?

Thank you

as for your Question my biggest obstacle in my team will be me and my game planning. I think once I actually try new things I figure out what works better with my players against my opponents. Another obstacle with other teams is that the league is getting better. Some moves made this off season will make it tough to repeat. I do think Miguel Thomas not returning will hurt a bit but if OG can pick up some of his Slack we should be fine. I just couldn't pay him a ton with Montoya being a RFA at the end of this season. I plan to address missing Thomas by using the committee approach and go from there. sorry for the rambling lol

Miggy Thomas stated winning a championship is great, but having a HEB around every corner is even better. Have you thought about re-naming your arena the HEB Coliseum?

Where does Daniel Yandell rank among the all-time great Spurs? Will he be the greatest Spur ever?

Are there any other former Spurs you'd like to bring back for the next run? I'm looking at b/b Jonathan Lewis who, aside from color, does not seem to have lost his step if preseason is any indication..

We may have to look into the naming rights in the near future if that will be a deal breaker for players leaving. Yan is up there with the great Spur players He still has time to be the greatest spur ever. BDJ and Josh Smith are up there in front him atm

We've had discussions about Lewis prior to TC but the Kings were happy to keep him there and I respect their decision.
