I was waiting to post until first sim but... oh well lol

Well that was fun, and… different. Never had a sim break from not losing before. I could get used to it (and I bet Len Bias could too)!

That was a pretty exciting series from the Clips and Jazz, no? Congrats to the Clippers. Can’t wait to see what happens next against the #$@$%@! 76ers. Also I could not have been more wrong about JNR and his Timberwolves - well-played, sir. And the Rockets too! They showed up way harder than I expected even if the final two losses were a bit dreadful. If 78# can take this ragtag couple of bigs and Norrin Radd to a few victories against the top-ranked Kings, I can’t wait to see what they can do with Avdija when he hits his prime. And lastly I totally overestimated the Magic. They did not produce much of it. Yandell is a force ready to give the Bulls some fits. And with that…

#1 Chicago Bulls vs. #4 San Antonio Spurs

Season series 5-0 Bulls
TL;DR Bulls

I think it’s safe to say these Chicago Bulls are favorites to take a repeat title home, but they’ll have to get past these Yandell led Spurs who took out the #5 Magic in 5, first. This will be no Eazy feat! Yandell may prove to be the antidote to Richard Hunt as The All Star Steals Leader and All League First and All Defensive First PG. Pretty incredible emerging from Jonathan Lewis’s shadow and teaching Dorian Whitley greatness along the way. A key factor, probably unlike the previous series where it proved relatively inconsequential, having Douglas Harris out for at least the first couple of games will hurt. Ernest Long will be able to hold things together somewhat in Harris’s absence, but Felicio and Thomas will be too fast at times for Long to keep up. This is likely where the most key matchup exists in this series, and without Harris I’m afraid the Spurs fall just short. And after losing every game this season to the Bulls, the squad might lack a little confidence going in, too.

The Bulls have many tools at their disposal. When you have a player like Silky Johnson coming off the bench, you’re in pretty good shape. Their best player, Burt Gibson, is not as good or versatile as Yandell, but he helps spread the floor well enough such that any number of their teammates can get open and score. These Bulls present a tough matchup for anyone in the league, and that’s all I really have to say about that.

#2 Sacramento Kings vs. #3 Minnesota Timberwolves

Season series 3-2 Timberwolves
TL; DR Timberwolves

I had these two teams’ first round matchups all wrong, apparently. The Twolves smoked the Nuggets (not quite but kinda nice) and the Kings got into trouble with the Rockets early before rebounding with a vengeance. All in all the Kings need to change some things up heading into the semis, however, as their starters did not play up to their potential. Jonathan Lewis had some great and less than great performances in Rd 1, but the deeper the Kings head into the playoffs, the more NOLa can and should expect from him. Killian Hayes will need to run a tighter offense and Hector will need to hold down the paint against a tough front court of Mitchell Robinson and OG Anunoby. It can be done, but NOLa will have to dig deep and...submit a DC.

The Timberwolves have another good matchup on their hands, now, and they probably will not have to do much hand wringing at all to head to the conference finals. The Twolves staved off the Nuggets rallying cry by an anticlimactic five points after doing them much dirtier all series long. Robinsons and Anunoby are smashing up backboards and the rest of the starting 5 are taking over the playoff leaderboards, too (with a Woodrow Atwater honorable mention (huh?)). JNR is not about to left-turn into something wrong here. He and his Tims are ready to compete with the league’s best for gold.

OMEGA

#1 Los Angeles Lakers vs. #4 Indiana Pacers

Season series 3-2 Lakers
TL;DR Lakers

Lakers win.

#2 Philadelphia 76ers vs. #3 Los Angeles Clippers

Season series 3-2 76ers
TL;DR not Sixers. I mean Clippers.

We did not learn much that we did not already know about K100’s 76ers in Round 1. They rolled on Xist, but not disrespectfully. Sliding Wiseman back to the wing position, Burnham and Jarvis held down the front court and their offense was pretty well spread out. Wiseman of course led the way, but he also cleared the way for his teammates to shine, too. So a fun sweep they had, but wins will not come quite as easily against the Clippers.

Much like Wiseman, Gary Loredo is a problem. Not even a fair problem. Gary Loredo will set the bottom of the net on fire all night long, and Stoll, Turney, Sterner (Blakemore, Rickly, yeesh) are right there to back him up if he goes cold. If Loredo and Wiseman go 1 on 1 at the 3 (which, let’s be honest, sounds fun as all get out for the fans), Wiseman might do well to go to the hole where he’s a bit more comfortable, but he’ll also have a hard time keeping up with Loredo on the perimeter with a good shake, shimmy and step back 3.

Dear Diary,

I dunno why I have even less to say about these semifinal matchups. Maybe I said it all already? I think I just have my eye on the prize. I have very little to say about my Lakers. They’ve spoken for themselves all season long, and so long as they stay healthy with a couple injuries out of the way and a bunch of rest under their belt, they could really go all the way! Oh wow, what a dream. Well, I guess that’s all for now, until ne…

Good thing I barely read the forum, or I would've been offended by your last article.
