#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

Welcome everyone to special edition of the Sacramento King's Media Presser. It's only special because it's the 50th season, which then means this is my 50th season as the GM of the Sacramento Kings which is pretty cool. One of my favorite thoughts about that is we have about 8 or 9 other GMs that have been with their team from the start of this league so here's to another 50 more.

Speaking of 50 or more, I seriously thought after trading for Lewis last year would get me 50 or more wins. When I checked the standings to make sure, I at least took solace that I was more than halfway there, but yeah, we did not hit that goal. Even though none of you are reading this. there was an attempt last season to put together a winning team. A combination of glaring weaknesses in the frontcourt, undeveloped young players, and injuries really proved too much and I recognized that just adding Lewis wasn't going to speed up the progress. Unfortunately that was after sim 3 (i.e. way too late to do anything about it).

Last season was pretty bad and then to end the season Plott got hit with the broken leg. I'm not sure how a team that can't win more than 30 games a season can make the computer this mad at them, but hopefully it blew off some steam and can stop drilling me in the face.

Going into this offseason I was definitely busy with some in real life things and was just happy to have made my pick. I remember his name was Lyle and he looked like a great piece, but I shipped him to the Nets for some help down low. Enter Hector!

Other than that move there wasn't really much happening. I submitted an illegal bid in RFA, UFA was quiet with a couple of role signings, and training camp went well.

PG: Don Sanchez (could flip to SF)
6th: Nikolas Lynch

Bro the goal is to win more than 30 games. Hasn't happened since I won the championship.

Who is the main player that has to step up to take some of the load off of Lewis' shoulders ?

Hector and that's why I traded for him. He's shown he can score 20ppg and will give my team balance going into the new season, plus he'll also lighten the defensive load on Lewis as well.

What do you think of your new division?

Eazy, Doug, and Raby. Eazy is positioning the team very nicely to be a dominant force down the road, my only question about his team which I just asked in his presser is if Dorian and Montoya's timeline doesn't match with Yandell, but in three seasons I can see Yandell beginning to show some regression while being All NBA 1st team, Dorian entering his prime, and Montoya being a great glue guy and 3rd piece.

Doug is the wildcard of the group because he's blown the team up, but we know he can build the team up just as quickly. Dong Bone is a good starting point but Doug has a while to go before he's back in the conversation as a contender.

Raby's team is the closest of the group to win one immediately. His team was good last year and after training camp they look even better. Mitchell and OG is the best frontcourt duo in the league and Wolfgang is starting to enter his prime. Defensively they are stacked, scoring down low won't be an issue, and they still have a solid true PG. The only weakness I see is 3 point shooting, but as long as their perimeter defense makes up for that they look strong.

I also don't know where you read I was attempting to win last season.

Any one of them THAT DECIDES TO WIN FOR ONCE IN THEIR GOD DANG LIFE I MEAN IS IT SO HARD TO WIN 37% OF THE AVAILABLE GAMES ON THE SLATE YOU WOULD THINK LUCK WOULD KICK IN EVERY SO OFTEN BUT MY GOD IF WE WERE EVEN SLIGHTLY LUCKY IN ONE OF OUR DEPRESSING SEASONS WHERE WE AVERAGED 15 WINS A SEASON THAN JESUS CHRIST I WOULD HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE TO SEE WHAT UNLUCKY IS MAYBE IT'S MULTIPLE BROKEN LEGS IN ONE SEASON WITH RATINGS HITS SINCE IT ONLY HAPPENED TO ME TWICE BUT IN SEPARATE SEASONS HOW FORTUNATE FOR ME.

Seeing Hayes take jump would be nice.

Skype calls. It usually worked out to where I was just pulling into the driveway home from work when Wig would call. I'd go inside and grab a beer and chat with everyone and listen in on the calls. By far the best Skype calls were the offseason calls (RFA results, UFA results, and of course TC). Even then I knew how awesome it was to have that and I knew it wouldn't last, so I tried my best to at least listen in at the time, but the nostalgia hits hard when I think about Skype calls for sim results.

Some say you are going all in for Pearman, any truth to that rumor?

If you don't acquire Pearman and your team barely cracks 30 wins, what do you do? Just curious, honestly I think you're actually cracking the playoffs this year having acquired Hector...

I'm not sure, I have hopes that I'm not a bottom team anymore and wouldn't be upset as long as I'm somewhat competitive. If I still can't crack 30 wins with the talent and contracts I would have to move on from the players for sure. Can't be a loser and go into the tax.

I don't think we're going to win too many turnover battles. I hope to keep the turnovers on our side low, but the team isn't strong at stealing or blocking shots. Getting Hector and Jackson should help with the blocks but we won't be a good stealing team, so I do see us losing turnover battles.
