Amidst all the kerfuffle about RFA, Amare Stoudamire was seen in the bay area this weekend. Rumor has it he's getting a max deal from the Dubs.

Rumors have started circulating about possible landing spots for Marcus Banks. He will be cheap, as in free, as soon as the Minnesota signs Lowry's max deal.

Sources close to Porn-stache Morrison say he is content to stay in Portland. "Some people say the grass is greener on the other side but I'll tell you what the "grass" doesn't get any greener than in Portland." Morrison was cited for possession in 2008.

When approached about this quote, The JNR had this to say: "Are the rumormongers even paying attention? We just acquired Banks because we see him as our backup shooting guard. We couldn't trade him if we wanted to, which we don't. Try harder, sources."

After doing some digging it was determined that Banks was actually acquired as a clever way to match salary and add another attractive piece to a package involving Banks and Thorton the Wolves are planning on shopping around for an upgrade at shooting guard. . . after day 60. That was for you JNR.

Randy Foye was recently seen in Sactown looking out of shape. "There's too much ice cream in this cow town. Nothing but ice cream!" Don't look for much out of Foye this training camp.

Sources say no blockbuster deals are in the works but we are likely to see a lot of smaller deals right before the deadline.

I'm told the Warriors and Trailblazers are all looking to pick up a cheap veteran to put them over the top in the race for the Pacific but their lack of available first-round picks is making that process tough.

The Clippers, on the other hand, appear to have the inside track on bringing in a difference-making vet with the possibility of moving both their 2011 and 2013 picks.

There appears to be an issue with the fax machine of the New Orleans Hornets after they finished their last trade. the same fax keeps printing off of every league fax machine over and over again:

Highly reliable sources indicate that the Rockets are looking at moving Ike Diogu right before the deadline. Diogu has a player option after the season and the Rockets feel he will decline the option which is one reason why Eddie Griffin was signed thru next season. If the deal is right, look for Diogu to end up with a contender right before the deadline.

Hearing that teams are anxious to bid on restricted free agents this season. One GM described this as a "really deep" class. One agent tells me teams wasted little time sending offer sheets once the bidding period opened last night.
