#SLOE: People's Basketball Sim League

In all fairness, I've been writing about pretend basketball for no reason for years. Shit ain't easy, brah.

In case of whole-nuther-level GM'ing, Sacramento takes a developmental Power Forward with pick 28 in Ike Diogu. He's athletic and will grow into a decent defender with enough offense to make him playable, but the team lacks a backup center and has no cap space. This is assuming that they match the max for Tyson that he'll receive from Cleveland. There are vet min deals, or they can small at center, maybe with Diogu who is the heaviest person not projected to start, but stands at only 6'8".

Still, this is the smartest possible move. If you don't get it, you suck.

The Hawks, perhaps reminiscing of the days of old, pick last in the first round, a slot for the team with the League's best record, excepting trades. With the 29th pick, the Hawks take Sarunas Jasikevicius, a ready backup point guard.

Here's what interesting. First, the Hawks already have two points guards in Harris and Telfair. Second, Sarunas Jasikevicius is 29. So, at the end of the rookie deal, if the options are picked up, he'll already be nearly unextendable. Third, for a team in a rebuild, and ready-made player, if a backup, is an odd choice.

This strikes me as an asset pick, as the Hawks have points out the wazoo, this is just currency exchange.
