Folks around the league seem certain that one of the top 3 picks of the 1998 draft class will be on the move at the end of RFA.
It's been a very quiet day around the league. I asked one GM why. He responded, "Everyone is camped out, running the numbers, trying to figure out how much they can afford to offer Michael Olowokandi. He's the real catch this off-season." Other sources indicate he may have already received 10+ offers.
With one hour left until the RFA deadline, a number of teams with cap room are just sitting on the sidelines. I asked one GM why and he responded, "What's the point? If you make a good bid, it will be matched. If you make a bad bid, you end up with the player and a bloated contract."
God dammit Sources I told you that in confidence!!!! Not for you to go and spout it off to the worldSources wrote:With one hour left until the RFA deadline, a number of teams with cap room are just sitting on the sidelines. Sources close to Houston report that the Rockets have submitted a "substantial" offer for Keon Clark. They said, "No one can even come close to what we brought to the table."
Sources report that Lamar Odom is exercising his early-opt-out clause and is becoming a last second RFA. More on this as it breaks.
Rumors are spreading like wildfire that the notorious league insider known as "Sources" has what some are calling an "intimate" relationship with Xist.Xist2Inspire wrote:Why are the only names being mentioned so far my players, huh "Sources?"

Sources have tracked IPs of the last few log-ins and the results will be revealed shortly.

In a bizarre twist it has been confirmed that "sources" is actually sources' mom. Scandal has erupted in DC. When asked about the report, Xist tried to change the subject.Xist2Inspire wrote:...

...man, this really must be a slow RFA period.
During his meeting with the Kings, rumor has it that free agent big man, Samaki Walker, left in the middle after receiving their offer. He was quoted as saying "we're not oceans apart, we're Fryeing planets apart
After cutting min salaries to gain max contract cap space, hearing the Grizzlies are hoping to steal away one of the bigger free agents. While they think it's unlikely they have secured meetings with Marshall and Webber today. Preview of the foodspread for the Webber meeting:
A sneak peek in the Nets' building after submitting their free agent bids.
Hi. This is Holly Ellenbogen reporting from the former home of the Charlotte Hornets.
Word from Mark Macon's agent is that he has received only minimum offers. Should he not receive any better offer, he intends to sign with the 2-time defending champion Hawks.
Broussard is betterSources wrote:During his meeting with the Kings, rumor has it that free agent big man, Samaki Walker, left in the middle after receiving their offer. He was quoted as saying "we're not oceans apart, we're WIGGING planets apart
Rumors flying that this is a really boring off-season.
Consensus around the league is that the Bucks are the big winners of the latest round of free agent signings. One GM quipped, "I mean Dickerson is okay but Borchardt was the big catch. If you haven't seen that kid yet, you've gotta check him out." Others are calling Borchardt a "project player" but some feel he is ready to play big minutes now.
Gilbert Arenas is obviously not taking opening night seriously. He missed the team shoot around today and this picture has surfaced. Word is the Kings are some sort of considering disciplinary action.
