When I asked a veteran GM about his fellow GMs' reaction to the Sixers/Magic trade he replied, "Rule number 1 for having friends and not causing a riot in this league: Never do anything to help Coltsguy."

When I asked him what he thought of the deal, he had only one word, "Yikes."

Normally a happy and gleeful time in the Van Memphis Grizzlies offices during RFA was dramatically different this year as shouting could be heard from outside of GM Enrique's office. "I can't work with this [wigging] list of player. Either everybody is gonna get maxed or they're sad [wigs] who don't deserve a bid!"

Sources tell me Tim Duncan, Tracy McGrady and Chauncey Billups have received max offers
Tim Thomas I am hearing has received plenty of interest.
Antonio Daniels hasn't received much interest at all, is what I am hearing.

Word is, GM nola is posturing that he wants to keep Daniels to get more out of the GM. The Kings GM is targeting Rashard Lewis or Lamar Odom for Daniels to help fill out his guard dominant roster.

Lakers have been "obsessed" with adding offense to their league dominating Defense and may have just gotten their guy in Tim Thomas. The Bulls have a tough choice to make. Match Tim Thomas in a position where they've already dripping with talent or letting him go. Only time will tell.

Two anonymous GM's report being close to deals to change the power balance in the league. What they do not know is that they are targeting the same players. Not to mention that there is a third GM with more to offer but who is on the fence about giving up so many picks.
