Any thoughts on the "partial refund"? Or hell even full refund?

I really wish more people would talk here, even if its like "yeah i like this" or "NAH"... we need MORE discussion before this goes to vote, and it's a very important topic.
Emphasis mine.

At present, it seems like the consensus seems to be "2 free trainings" but there's not a consensus on "can you pay for trainings above and beyond 2" and I think at minimum that's a very important thing to settle before we bring to a vote.

Figuring out whether to keep or dump RCT as part of this proposal is also something that I'd personally like to see as it would decrease the complexity of the league and the time I have to spend on it, too. I think simpler is probably better.
I think on the chat we said 3 and no paid insurance . I like that idea the most.

I still like the idea of free rookie contract insurance and no RCP points, followed by 3 free insurances w/o ability to pay for more insurances, then 2 free insurances and ability to pay for more insurances.

Also, as someone who has many rookie-contract players, I'm all for getting rid of RCP to simplify the game. It doesn't help as much as perceived and you really have to go all-in on your rookies playing. For a league that is so sour about tanking I'm not sure how the RCP gets so much support.

I’m against every rookie getting free trainings if that’s what youre saying?

I do agree about RCP to a degree, but i think we’re seeing rookies come in way more raw and they are useful.

I would say no. 3 freebies forever, no buying more. Keeping current TC insurance rules of age.

I would flip your last two, but my favorite is Free ROokie Contract Insurance with no RCP.

If Free Rookie Contract Insurance with no RCP is the spot, does this mean no additional insurances allowed?

Thats my issue with it. You get 10 rookies and get 40 free camps but once you pay as RFA they done? Nah hard pass. Let me pick my 3 please.

I don't know why people are against paying for additional TC insurance outside of the allowance. Like have 2 Freebies and then you can pay for additional. I guarantee you won't see a huge uptick in Insurance.. We could even cap the paid insurances @ 3 or something. But I feel like there could easily be a middleground between the free TCs and paid

Inner_GI wrote: Sat Aug 19, 2017 11:22 am So in light of the Detroit Pistons training camp insurance bank fiasco and concern that teams may not be deducting points BEFORE a player gets saved, I'm proposing a new suggestion all about FUN FUN FUN.

Training Camp insurance is FREE, but you can only insure a MAX of 2 players a season.

I think this allows each team to protect their favorite players and remove another checks and balance that honestly feels like another way for GMs to get screwed by making a human mistake.

LETS MAKE THE LEAGUE FUN AGAIN.
The initial purpose of the thread was making the league fun and protecting ourselves from the guessing game that is TC Insurance... soooo what if....what if we do away with insurance and offer 2 or 3 free "restorations" post-TC? That way you take away the randomness of picking the wrong player to insure.

Just throwing ideas out there to see what sticks.

Yes, but the question was also raised about having a lot more points in the league, and if we are giving 2 or 3 free insurances, ideally the points can be used to bring currents on hit players, improve other players, or keep a team together longer, etc.

I don't think it is currently possible for teams to insure 4-5 rookies(it just costs to much to that for a long run). If we give 3 away and let a team buy more, they could insure 5 players for a very long time. I don't think that's helpful to the league. That's why I'm against free + paid TC insurance.

I agree with this. Insurance, in my mind, has never been about protecting EVERYBODY. It's been about not losing your franchise star or two to TC. The free and some are just essentially giving everyone 20 or 30 free points to use elsewhere... I really like saying you get 2 or 3 up to the age of 27/28 and that's it for insurance. Choose wisely. That way theres a little more strategy played into it.

Let's decouple this conversation from the idea of eliminating Rookie Contract Trainings. That's a subject for another thread, I think.

We seem to be going back and forth over 2 vs 3. Is there a way to split the difference? Does anyone object strenuously to:

* Insure 2 players free
* Insuring a 3rd player costs you 20 points (up from 10 because of the higher media cap and the way I anticipate the sim economy will be going based on some of the other proposals such as luxury tax payouts to non-taxpayers).
* Can't insure more than 3, full stop.

Id rather just the 3 free at that point.

I'm fine with that. I'd rather it be a constant free for whatever number of TC we decide, but I haven't had the chance to read the Revamp Finance post yet.

I definitely like the 3 free and be done with it. The insurance was implemented because the game hits players more often than bumping them. The 3 free is just a way for teams to counter the game's odd random training camp hits to their most important players.
