I couldn't get into Last of Us at all. In fact, I'd go as far to say that I hated the game. I'm usually not into horror of any kind, though, so that's my issue and not the game's.
I know what you're saying cause im really not into the whole zombie horror survival thing at all but as the story progresses Last of Us becomes brilliant. Dont know if id go so far to say that its one of my faves of all time
I actually had put TLOU down through the first city. Just was tired of it early. I then got to the meat of the story and started scheduling time in my life to finish it. I'm not into zombies and stuff (don't watch walking dead or anything) but this game's story will leave you talking for months after.
Same for me. Never played Horror, zombie, survival type games, but the story, the game mechanics, strategy, and just sheer intense emotional moments in that game are worth playing a genre I normally don't like. That gaming experience was on the level of Mass Effect to me. THe world they created was so fleshed out you feel like you are/were there.

Sadly, I haven't gotten a new system since about 08. Never time to play. I probably play NES the most right now though. I've been killing RBI, Tecmo, and Zelda.
I hooked up my old NES from 1986 and it works ok. Playing TMNT II THe Arcade Version lately.

My kids went with me to a vintage game shop in Las Vegas where they had Mike Tyson's Punch-Out hooked up. My son, a retro game addict, tried it out and got frustrated quickly, then handed me the controller. I made it up to Mr. Sandman before being losing a single match. Not bad for someone who hadn't played the game for almost 30 years.

Replaying Mass Effect 2 right now with the intention of finishing Mass Effect 3 again. First time I went through it was before most of the DLC was launched
