Sources wrote:Another reminder to everyone, Shaq is NOT an RFA. Second time already that someone has bid on him in the RFA period. Word is, however, Shaq was flattered by the early attention.
More on this. Heard one of the teams who bid on Shaq early was in fact the Houston Rockets. Despite their huge public denial of events, they are VERY interested in reacquiring him to give a certain finger to the Bucks for taking advantage of the situation.

For a team focused on rebuilding, Minnesota sure does seem to be throwing a lot of money around.
The latest reports state that Wolves GM JNR is "fed up" with the lack of trade activity for star big man Webber and now plans to "force" other teams to show interest by pursuing their RFAs with the intention of initiating sign-and-trade talks.

Apparently Billy Joel was right: he didn't start the fire; Shandon Anderson's latest offer did... Wow.

Don't pack Webber's bags just yet. The above line of thinking definitely fits in with other moves the Timberwolves have made. However, I am hearing from a source close to the team that Webber's trade isn't a foregone conclusion. I'm told JNR and Webber sat down after Webber's article to talk about team direction and that Webber left thinking there's a chance he stays with the team.

Allen Iverson, despite dropping in training camp, is a 20+ PER guy who can score 20-25 points per game. He felt he deserved a max, and teams have rewarded him with 3 year maxes with player options. It will be up to the Suns to match or not.

We've received word that within the last hour, a max offer sheet has been placed on an RFA record 12th player. This is perhaps the greatest draft class of all time, and it is being paid as such. Some believe we might even see one or two more players receive maxes.

Antoine Walker is said as of now to be headed somewhere south. "I'm going to play in the warm, where the sun comes up every day." Having received a couple of maxes, he'll have his choice of where he'd like to spend the next 4 years of his life.

Sources say that RFA Tony Delk wanted to be fair and visit every team for exactly 1 hour but there are 29 teams and only 24 hours in a day.

Sources again showing their the beta news source. Delk's officials told me personally they invited teams with more than $3 Million in cap space to Manhattan to discuss a potential deal so he could meet with everyone and make the best deal for himself. Those who couldn't make the trip were scheduled for conference calls. This is the year 2000, not the stone ages. If you want half accurate information, come back to hoopshype. In other news, sources are reporting that Erick Strickland has made a verbal commitment to a team in the Western Conference. However, with 4 hours looming until deadline, a verbal commitment is about as reliable as a Chris Broussard report.

Fasten your seatbelts! Sources close to Detroit's front office claim that the Pistons have 100% faith that Speedy Claxton will be their PG of the future. This coincides with an earlier statement from the Pistons GM: "With RFA already being over and no worthwhile point guards on the FA market, we decided to look in house."

Sources here to once again flex their muscle and show who is the greater source for NBA rumors and news (ok mostly rumors). We at Hoopshype have discovered on internal document from the Rockets on RFA Antoine Walker. Probably more important than what was actually said (the GM called Walker, in a word, unimpressive), is how seemingly gunshy the Rockets GM has become after several missteps (Max of Bryon Russel, subsequent panic trade of Russell, holding on to Shaq too long and letting him go when his value was lowest). The once proud and boisterous GM has seemingly become more timid especially when it comes to Free Agency. The issue is, can careful and calculating every move put together a great team? That remains to be seen

A surprising twist to the off-season: Ron Artest's name has come up in more than a handful of trade talks. Whether it was another team inquiring or if the Hornets GM is actively shopping him, that is yet to be determined.

In some candid talks with the Grizzlies GM, he was asked, "If you were to go back and do last year's draft all over again, would you do anything different?" His response? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After Chris Broussard's reports on the Bucks moving their franchise player, we reached out to the Bucks ownership for a one-on-one discussion about their interest in moving Jalen Rose this off-season. Their owner emphatically said, "Ridiculous." Emphasis on "dick".

While I can confirm this as true, I can also confirm that Ron Artest is almost 100% going nowhere. Word on the street is that the Mavericks offered Penny Hardaway for Artest, and that offer was met with doubt over Hardaway's age and contract, and gushings over Artests' limitless potential. Artest could very well be the next "Hornet for life."

In a brave move, Bucks GM Ian Quailmen has come out of the closet and did so publicly on this month's TV guide:

Speaking of dicks, when asked what it was like to sit on Shaqs hard cock, GM Quail responded with this visual.

Addendum to this that got cut off for some reason, it should be noted that "for life" in Charlotte generally means he's out in 2-3 seasons

The Lakers have had a quiet off-season, deservedly so after winning a championship. However, when news of Starbury hitting UFA was released, Lakers GM Balls O'hard felt that tingle deep down. Many sources within over a handful of teams can confirm that Jason Kidd has been dangled out there for a young player and cap relief in order to pursue a chance at bringing another star to L.A.
