Made my initial pass-through on the rookie draft file (I reviewed real-life first round picks and second-round picks that played more than a handful of minutes in the NBA) and uploaded it to the index. If you see anything that looks off, please PM me and let me know.

Hey anyone getting NBA League Pass this year? Or have gotten it in the past?

I see now that they only offer a 1 team package or the entire NBA package. $119 or $199. Value-wise they make it very easy for a basketball fan to choose. But I also have a question about the blackouts.

Tell me if my understanding is wrong. The only time blackouts affect you is the teams that you live around correct? Most of you would get Pelican blackouts while I being in Austin would probably get Houston blackouts. But I should never have to worry about Laker blackouts right?

Any input or insight on this would be great as I need to decide by tomorrow.

Black outs also happen when the games are on national tv (TNT, ABC, ESPN, and even NBATV... which is fkn stupid because NBA owns NBATV and LeaguePass but you cant watch NBATV games on LP)

Yeah when I had it a few years ago the only time it sucked, was when the game was on NBATV, or I was in a situation where I only had my ipad/phone and the game was on TNT/ESPN. Otherwise blackouts were rarely a problem. Oh and except when the cavs would sometimes randomly play on FS South Ohio, for some some random cable company offers that channel in my area. I didn't use said cable company, but NBA League Pass told me that if only 1 cable subscription service offers the channel it can be blacked out in your area. It was really dumb, but I think they refunded me some money over it and let me repick my 5 teams.

In theory, you should only miss Pelicans or Lakers games when they are (a) playing Houston or (b) on TNT/ESPN/other nationally televised games.

However, your mileage may vary. While I was at a rest stop in Central California last night, I tried pulling up games on my phone and was told that based on my geographical region, the Knicks and Nets would be blacked out for me. Huh?

There's also some tricky shit you can do to disguise your location so the game isn't blacked out. I did it for the month package once upon a time and can look it up if anyone is interested.

As DCs for Games 3-4 were not distributed, Games 5 and 6 will be pushed back a day (to Monday at 5 pm) so that our DC posting team will have time to distribute and those who may have been waiting for DCs can receive them.

Deadline for Games 5 and 6 of the Finals is 5 pm today (Monday).

Whether the finals end today or go to a Game 7 and end tomorrow, the draft lotto show will be chaired by me (since I have no lotto picks) as both a thread and a Skype call tomorrow (Tuesday) - most likely sometime between 5 and 7 pm Central (earlier in that window if the Finals finish up early, later in that window if they don't get simmed until 5 pm as there is end-of-season stuff that takes some time once the Finals are complete).
