It's time once again for another season of Knicks basketball. Our playoff starting line up of Haun, Leonardo, Kapp, Shaw, and Brown will be the starters again this season. I went recommended the first sim to figure out the bench rotation which will be organized for Sim 2. I just added a player and wanted to see who will step it up before figuring that out. Hodgkins, Mulder, and Owens are back along with a few new players we got via draft or free agency. Those players include Davenport, Kuehl, Sena, Haier, Link, Belden, and the newly signed Derosier. Whoever plays the best this week will earn the minutes. Can't really go by preseason so just going to let the team play and see who fits best into our rotation. This season I expect us to compete for a playoff spot. We got lucky with injuries to other teams and winning when we needed to in order to get into the playoffs last season so it'll be similar to that I think. If Kapp and Brown play like how they did in the playoffs we will get in for sure. They both stepped it up and kicked ass in the playoffs. I hope they repeat that again this season but I'm not going to lie, the drop off in how the team played was very noticeable after Bower got traded. Basically we need one of the bench guys to step up as that 10 points a game type of player and one of the bench guards to average 4 assists. We do a lot better with a bench scoring big and a bench passer who can set up scoring when the starters are off the court. As long as that happens, regardless of the player's currents, we will do good. We have 2 more seasons maximum with Haun and Leonardo so making the most of that time is my top priority.
Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Your best player, Douglas Haun, regularly averages more than 4 fouls in less than 30 minutes of play. Has there been any thought on how to work on that so he's not sitting out half the game?

Not really. My teams, until the last few seasons, were always top 5 in most fouls so I never really thought about it.
I know you are not going to trade away Haun/Leonardo for peanuts but what kind of return are you looking for in potential trade offers? Do you value players who can join Kapp and Shaw or draft picks to start over completely?

I'm looking at bringing in some value players coupled with picks. My teams work best when it's a bunch of roleplayers surrounding three scorers. If there's only two scorers it won't work. It also will work if the sixth man is a scorer like Bower was for us.
