S58 Magic Hour

Post by false9 »

We are still here. We are still doing this. We're bring the jpeg back. Earvin, what time is it?

Last season went about as expected. We were a middle of the road playoff team, but we did win a playoff series (GIMME THOSE POINTS). The real goal was staying out of the tax and gathering assets, which I was satisfied with by season's end.

After losing to a great Bucks team, I'd hoped to kick off more the rebuild but did not find many offers. So I pivoted to dealing for a quality wing in Hintz. The rest of the roster remains unchanged, except for Ken Dirks' salary. Parris took a step back in TC, but I did what I could to get him to starter level. I have thought about trying to pull an O'Connor with Bernard Miller, but here's how the starting five looks tentatively:

C: Parris
PF: Dirks
SF: Manley
SG: Hintz
PG: Atkison

Based on some private chats and pressers, it looks like some others are feeling the same malaise I have. Does mine have to do with the championship quality of my team? Not really! I think I've accepted that not every season has to be in or out of title contention. I am ready once again to go with the flow. If this is a team that loses AGAIN in the second round, that's fine.

Maybe I'll pull a Doug except with a lineup of all PGs next season. Anyway, I'm rambling. Send me your questions.

Sham Smith, Bulls.com: Do any of these little <expletive deleted> ever pop out of the Fryeing wall and say, "Frye, there's a horse cock in my room or a donkey dick?"

This is the worst day I've ever had on this job. If you wanna stay in this league, shut the hell up!

Has the Magic faded or is your team going to surprise some folks with a playoff run?

This should still easily be a playoff team. Any kind of deep run is a different matter- I'll just be glad to get in a few more sim days.

Casper Wallace, Nickelodeon: Mark Adkinson had a breakout season last year, setting new highs in almost every statistical category. Do you think he has the ability to be a top PG in the league; and, if so, do you think he could carry the load heading forward?

I know he had a nice TC, but he was benched for preseason so I'm not sure what to expect. To be frank, anything above his average last season would be gravy. He's not a PG you win titles because of, but it's definitely a plus to have starting.
