Alright, alright, alright. It's time for another Knicks preseason press conference. Last season we FINALLY won a playoff series and went 7 games in the second round against the best team in the Conference. Things are going good to put it mildly. I did manage to get Haun and Leonardo back in free agency even though I had to pay up to do it. I also brought back Kenneth Johnson so we have all 5 starters back this season. Drafting David Mulder was a good pick up for us as well. We also added John Sena, Milton Brown, Joseph Runnels, and Logan Donofrio. Everyone else is the same as last season so our bench is definitely changed up a bit. At the start of TC we had 9 players on the team that were drafted by me and 2 more that only had been on the court for us so that's a big plus for us as far as developing talent in house without trades or free agency...of course that was before 3 of them got TC destroyed but still a good look for us. However I'm not going to be like "Wow, he has 83 PRD and 93 STA. Let me trade you 5 point for him" or some nonsense like that to replace players so I used the waiver wire. That said, this is highly likely my last season with this group of players. That's the bottom line about it. So yes I highly likely will be making trades either this season at the deadline if we're in the cellar or before UFA next season. Not to surprising but I think a rebuild centered around Haun would be a smart move if it doesn't work out this season. So yes there is a master plan it just depends on what happens this season. At the latest it'll happen the season after that going by contracts that are expiring at the end of next season including Bower and Kapp as well as McIntyre's that expires after this season which is a factor in this as well. Big changes are on the horizon, I just hope the playoffs are where we end up at again for the third season in a row. That would be the ideal way to end this season. I think we'll be in the 4th-8th range again in the conference in all scenarios. So yeah, hoping for the best and I'm intrigued to see where we end up at when the season is over.

I'm excited because of the name and I think he's going to be a valuable bench contributor for our team this season. I'm mainly evaluating the roster this season and I'm hoping he works out because SG is a position that will for sure have a new starter next season. Sena is a possible option for that so I'm hoping for the best with him.

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: with the fourth highest salary, do you see yourself as the fourth best team?

Nope especially with $50 million of it being cut salary. Luckily that goes away after this season. I'm hoping for the best but if it doesn't work out expect me to be uncharacteristically a trader for once.
If you are looking to hit the trade market, what are you looking for in return? Youth / picks / points? Pretty excited to see what moves you decide to make given your philosophy with this part of sim league. Can we expect a different approach to free agency next year too?

Youth and picks most likely. Possibly points too since I have some seasons I haven't added to my point bank yet. Yes definitely a different free agency approach. Going into evaluation of talent mode the next few seasons and rebuild if it gets to that point.
