Hello, friends. Do you like hearing about suffering? Then let's get to it.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. The achievements of 65 wins, another division title and the #2 seed were overshadowed by Felicio's broken leg and a swift elimination in round 2. It was time, once again, for another offseason of misery.
Faced with the prospect of paying the tax for the fifth season in a row and an aging core, I knew what I had to do. It was time to rebuild. Out went Tex Harrison, Ronnie Reynolds, and John Blakemore. In came Kory Manley, Antonio Blakeney, and Jericho Sims. These trades also opened up our cap space, which allowed for us to make some big splashes in UFA. Myke Henry and Mark Adkison took less money to play in sunny Orlando. Robert Mata even came back (
YOU CAN BUY HIM FOR POINTS). We even brought back Matthew O'Connor for the memes.
So what does this all mean? Well, for now, nothing. This team isn't a title contender yet, and I'm ok with that. Not having that expectation on this season will at least mean it doesn't end in misery again. I fully expect this group to flirt with the last playoff spot at best. If we're in the lottery, so be it. The main goal is to identify who's part of the future going forward.
With that, I'll take your questions.
