Well, not the best team in the league, far from it. But we WERE #1 in the draft, and secured a great talent in Saddiq Bey. We are so thrilled to add a prospect of his caliber to our roster. But before we go further with that, let's take a brief look back at last season's achievements:
- Unloaded good players for picks and points
- Lost a lot
- Sucked
WAY TO GO US! What a successful year! Honestly, if you asked me, I think we outperformed our expectations. Our young guys just have so much pride despite their GM having no moral compass or desire to succeed in the short term. Speaks VOLUMES to their character, not mine.
Anyway, back to the draft, we were super fortunate to land the first overall pick, because honestly, everything after that was a bit dodgy. So Bey, while he is definitely a work in progress, has a very high ceiling, especially if he can buy into our highly regimented conditioning program to improve quickness and foul awareness. We really struck out on some other big names this year, hoping to swing for some fences even though we aren't particularly ready. Benton Stack and Joe Boger were nice prospects added in Free Agency, while we also added Immanuel Quickley in the draft. Myke Henry left for greener pastures (emphasis on green) cuz he a bitch.
This year will once again be a developmental year for us. But we are excited to see if any of our rookies are ready to make a splash.

You say you're excited to see the rookies. Does that eliminate any redshirt possibilities?
Yea, I think Bey looks like a guy who could contribute now. Patrick Williams is also growing into a contributor as well. We may redshirt the dong one more year though.

Chet Youbetcha, Dimmadome News: do you think you will trade a blue potential player this season?

It's possible, but unlikely. Just depends on how the market plays out. I only have a few at the moment, but I'd love to secure a rookie deal pass-first player.
Sham Smith, Bulls.com: A year later, how are you feeling about the reshuffle draft? While PaulyP immediately came under fire for drafting two new GMs right away, Artest now has 2 even newer GMs, the tax jail life sentenced Hawks, and the middle-feeding Mavs and Rockets. Was this a slow-slime play?

In hindsight, the Artest division looks like shit. Counting on the rockets to be a winning franchise is like counting on TeamViewer to not go down once a month... just not gonna happen. I think the Kings or Spurs will run away with this division for a while. But WE WILL BE BACK!
