I am nominating NOLa for GM of the Year. I think he has done an outstanding job with his team. The team has finally made it over the hill in terms of development. He took a team that had 28 wins last year and turned them into what will be a 60+ win team. That is an absurd jump no matter how you look at it. The kings have a top 10 margin in stats for all but four categories, and has outstanding players on his roster from top to bottom. He is also now, as of this season, the most winningest GM in PBSL history; which is also a huge feat by itself.

I'll pop in a nom for the Angriest of Bananas. He has OKC on pace for a 50-win, 4 or 5 seed finish after taking a turn in how he wanted to attack the Thunder's build midway through. He went hard in the off-season to add pieces to win-now, then he wasn't afraid to admit when he may have misjudged a few things. Now he also has Silva to try building with Wade and Maker after moving J-Rod to the Nuggets. On top of his work with the team, he's also been staying on top of the Sim Pick Em every sim, is tracking the Sim Vegas, and even found time to get other GMs together for an article and all of these things are in the name of making the league more interesting and interactive.

I nominate Darth Vegito. He splashed back with a vengeance this year, trading away the number 1 pick for the number 1 PG, but he didn't stop there. He got one of the league's best scorers to pair with the best PG next in Jordan Johnson, and not to be stopped there he also grabbed Quintin Kidd, a perennial Defender of the Year. These tools alone get any GM into the playoffs and, while the regular season maybe did not meet expectations, few GMs will be happy to meet this Jazz team in the playoffs.
Somehow I manage.

I still feel like there are a few good GMs who haven't been nominated, and choosing one is hard, but I'm going to nominate MexicanMamba. The list of accomplishments this season to turn into a bonafide contender is just too long.

1. Traded to get Gary Loredo at a very good value (McAllister/Nesmith/picks/pts?). I don't think the Raptors are winning any rings as a result of this trade, but at the stage in the game, I don't think there was anyone offering anything stronger. However, the Clippers, I can all but guarantee, will win one with Loredo at some point.

2. Grab Norris Turney in Free Agency. This was the biggest free agency coup there was.

3. Grab Geoff Rickly via waivers.

4. Set up deals for Tilton and Candelaria to try to solve their frontcourt imbalance. They're still a backcourt heavy team, but this helps get one side of the scale at least off the ground.

With the moves they made throughout the season, the Clippers have only gotten stronger and are a legit threat to win a ring this year. If not, they've at least course corrected themselves to have better opportunities with a move or two over the next few seasons.
