Hello, friends. We’re back again and less clever than ever.
Let’s begin with a short recap of last season.
At this time last year, I said the team would be lucky if we had a first round playoff exit. Well, it turns out we weren’t lucky- we didn’t even make the playoffs despite a competent 43 win season. But in a way, I’m glad it happened. This was a clear message the group I’d assembled wasn’t going to amount to what I wanted- a championship team. It was time to blow it up.
After shopping around, Richard Hunt and Joshua Schumann were sent off to title contenders. In came Kostas Antetokoumpo, Tres Trinkle, Bradley Connell, Titus Edmonson, and John Rainbolt. We also rolled the dice on some project players in free agency, and we had some pleasant surprises. Except poor Darin Tirado, but at least he’s on a tiny contract.
So what do I expect this season? LOSSES, AND LOTS OF ‘EM. I do expect Reynolds and Harrison to take a leap in production, and I’ll be showcasing Rainbolt (PM me!), but this is a young group. Hopefully, we can get some more dealing done this season and consolidate some assets. But, it does feel like a relief this season to be starting over.
Our starting five to open the season:
C- Shank
PF- Kostas
SF- Reynolds
SG- Tex
PG- Rainbolt
I’ll open the floor to your questions.
