I asked if it mattered if we traded then drafted or the other way around. I picked based on that. Would it have worked the other way?

Once picked they become salary on the team, its nuance really. Yes player can be traded after pick is made, its just at that point gotta match the salary. Thats my fault for not being clear about that, sorry!
