There's a decent crowd of reporters in the United Center as GM Garbage Man and Bulls owner Erik Abramson stand at a podium in the center of the arena. They're both looking up at the rafters as stadium crew unfurls another accolade bestowed upon the Chicago Bulls...
GM: Hello, and welcome to the United Center for the unveiling of another division title and a preview of the upcoming season. Unfortunately, despite our regular season success, we couldn't even put away the Detroit Pistons without their best player in Anthony Davis. While Dennis J. Smith, Russell Westbrook, and Vernon Desantis made up an excellent core that even brought us our first championship, we had some hard decisions to make going into the offseason and felt that it was time that we move on to the next phase for the organization.
Realistically, we're not thinking about the playoffs right now, but I feel like we've got some direction, some solid role players, some nice young pieces with solid potential, and two players that I see the organization building around in Leroy Haugh and Wanderlei Silva. We think that Leroy Haugh is going to have an incredible season. This is his fourth year with the Bulls, and he's come into every season looking hungrier and readier to play. This season was no different, and we really feel like he can put up close to 30 points a game.
We're also really excited to welcome Wanderlei Silva to the Bulls squad. At 23, he'll bring scoring to the post and tenacity on the offensive glass. He showed us a commitment to improving his defensive game in training camp, and his ability to block shots is already unparalleled. In a couple seasons, we project that Wanderlei has an even higher ceiling than Vernon Desantis had, and we look forward to seeing him get there.
In terms of other notable offseason acquisitions, we have four rookies ready to prove themselves on our second unit in Nathaniel Anderson, Josh Hart, Manny Machado, and Cameron Payne. Anderson is a 7 footer who can shoot and his skill set complements Wanderlei's nicely. Josh Hart is a tall, athletic combo guard who projects to be an amazing scorer with his ability to slash and drive to the rim. Manny and Cameron are both rookies, and we'll see what they can do at the forward spots.
Finally, we're rounding out our lineup with some veteran leadership in Isaiah Thomas, Monte Palmer, and Buddy Pedraza. With Isaiah and Monte joining the starting lineup with Leroy Haugh, we'll finally have a formidable three point shooting game. Having Buddy in the post alongside Wanderlei Silva will give us a frontcourt that can grind out a lot of points and clean up any missed shots from deep.
I think this team will be very fun to watch. We're a young team that's going to play some fast paced basketball and score a lot of buckets. Now, I'm happy to take any questions you all might have.
