I would like to nominate Markelle Fultz. Markelle is an interesting case of one of our college players who started extremely raw and now he's a star on his Team. Markelle last year was great off the bench for me. We had starters at the 1-5 set and anything he placed out there was a bonus. He posted averages of 11/2.2/2.5/1.5 Steals per game. with Fultz as the 6th man, we made it to game 7 of the NBA finals.
Enter this year. Lots of things were changing in Philly. Hayward was gone, Kanter was gone, and so was Jennings. This means we needed everyone to step up their game, but no one more than Markelle. Markelle was a bit of a wild card last season, but this season he had to be one of the rocks that created the 76ers bedrock of foundation, and boy did he show up. This season he posted 19.6/3.9/4.7/2.2 Steals.
The beautiful thing about Fultz blossoming is that he's a 2 way guard who can score, distribute a bit and defend on a near elite level. Extra minutes boost every player's stats, but they didn't affect his efficiency in this role; it in fact, increased it.
