Since my previous presser was deleted, hopefully y'all find this less offensive.

I don't think there's been back-to-back champions in this league that have gotten the dearth of respect of our Nuggets. We had the best record in the league last year - the Kings will tell you that's only because they battled through injuries at the end of the year. We battled through major injuries to our starters in the beginning of the year. Injuries happen, and when the season ended we won more games than everyone else.

Our organization is no longer satisfied with regular season results, and after only dropping 3 playoff games en route to a championship the previous year, last year our road was much more difficult. The Finals matchup with the Celtics was my proudest moment in Sim League outside of my 2 GMOY awards. Conroy built an incredible team, and despite my personal doubts our defense stopped it.

In life, however, there is no rewind button, only fast forward.

This year, we return the same core, but with a less offensively talented point guard. We've challenged Speedy to make up for his offensive challenges with being the best defensive point guard in the league. Our depth has take a hit as the luxury tax left us without the ability to fill out the bench as we'd like and we refuse to rack up a bill we cannot pay.

We expect to make the playoffs, we expect to be competitive. And next year...well let's not fast forward too far.

Well hell, only thing undefeated in sim league is Father Time. We are seasoned, but we acquired KG and KVH on deals through their primes, and this year probably is the last year or two of both of their primes. They will both still be devastatingly efficient, and KG will challenge for all-NBA defense. They both declined in TC, and our supporting cast have all (to quote the movie Major league) passed their prime, and some of them never had a prime.

The only two long term contracts we have are for players just approaching their primes, and that's exactly what we want.

Pretty simple, we'll try to do something in free agency next year with more than half our cap available, and if no deals make sense, we have our own pick. I'm always open to trading him for longer term pieces, but the return would have to be substantial as his value is as well. Hes a player that does everything extremely well for his position, and we'd love him to lead us to another ring before his time is done.
