Got out of bed just a few minutes ago to see this (it's about 6:30 am here).
The Wizards' pick was made at 9:15 pm yesterday, so your pick was due at 11:15 pm Central last night. Even though I hadn't updated the thread title (stuff came up at home last night), you could have either checked the thread to see the Wizards had picked, or, with 2 hours allotted per pick, you could have guessed your pick would be due no later than 11:25 pm.
This PM asking me when the pick was due wasn't sent until 5:34 am central (over 6 hours later),
Even though the draft clock stops at midnight, your pick was still 45 "on the clock" minutes overdue and the autopick done by Quail wasn't made until 7:27 am central (almost 2 hours after your private message was sent).
In this case, you had 2 hours and 45 minutes of "on the clock" time, had 10 hours and 12 minutes of "real time" elapse between the Wizards pick and the auto-sim, and at least 1 hour and 53 minutes of real time between the time you PM'd me (which means you could have checked the draft thread to see if the Wizards had gotten their pick in) and the time your pick was in.
Multiple other teams picked yesterday between my updates of the draft thread title once they were on the clock but their name wasn't yet in the thread title, so I can't think the title of the thread was what was confusing.
Each owner is responsible for knowing deadlines, and when the draft is going on, it really is a good idea to send a list if your pick is coming up and you may not be available (I actually did get a list from the Clippers last night in case their pick came up as they would be away). Also, the "subscribe" link at the top of the thread will send you an email when a new post is made in the thread, so you can be instantly alerted when a pick is made.
My general policy for tardy picks is that as long as you can get it in before one of the members of the input team is able to sim the pick, it will be allowed, but you can't complain if you're past due and your pick gets simmed. Once the clock has expired and member of the input team sims the pick, the pick is considered made and we move forward.
All of this is a long-winded way of saying, "sorry, man, but the autopick stands."
