Sim Pick Em S16 Wk 3/4 due 1/1 by 5PM CT

It's back again! The Weekly Sim Pick Ems for the 2005-2006 season. For those unfamiliar with the concept, here are the guidelines...

Pick'em Panel Rules

1. All games will have a point spread, a point total amount of over/under, or just an instant Pick Em.

2. There is NO Wild-card (as that was a freebie anyway). And there will be 7 games per week.

3. At the end of the season, the winning division members will get to collect their +5 point winnings.

4. I will assign pickers. The division member selected will have up until 4PM CT of sim day to make his selection. If it runs past 4PM and the member that was selected still hasn't made his picks known, it will then be up for a free for all where any member who puts his picks in will be credited up to 5PM CT.

5. The maximum allowed entries a member of the division is permitted to submit their picks will be 3 Times per season. Each submission of picks will grant you +1 free point for your piggy bank which you must mark down in your team points thread.

6. Picks are due by 5pm on Sim Day. Late picks before sim will not be accepted.

11/16 - 76ers @ Magic: Total 210 Over/Under/Push

Offensively these teams look like they should surpass 210 but they've been playing relatively poor defenses and each team has a good defense. I think defense kicks in and keeps the scoring total under 210.

11/17 - Spurs @ Grizzlies: Pick Em!

The Grizzlies are reworking their team around Gasol after trades last season, while the Spurs are working with the same crew they've had for years. The Spurs have already figured out what they want to do and it should show.

11/20 - Hornets (-5.5) @ Heat

I think the Hornets overachieved a bit in the first sim, but the Heat don't have enough of the right pieces around LeBron yet.

11/23 - Hawks (+7.5) @ Celtics

The Hawks are rebuilding and on the road. That smells of "blowout" to me, attempts to avenge last year's first-round loss notwithstanding.

11/25 - Bulls @ Kings: Total 194 Over/Under/Push

I'm relying on the Kings rather than the Bulls to take this over. The Bulls' free agency losses make them ripe for the picking in Sacramento. I don't feel good about it though - this could be a game where the Bulls struggle to reach 70.

11/27 - Suns @ Pacers: Total 177 Over/Under/Push

That's just a REALLY low number - the fun game-within-a-game here will be Pierce vs. Posey.

11/29 - Jazz (+6.5) @ Mavericks

Not gonna pick against the Mavericks at home, particularly against a thin Utah squad.

11/16 - 76ers @ Magic: Total 210 Over/Under/Push

Two teams that know each other very well. Magic both defenses don't give up 100 ppg in an age where it's not completely rare, but also not common.

11/17 - Spurs @ Grizzlies: Pick Em!
Grizzlies aren't as good as they've looked. Spurs aren't as bad.

11/20 - Hornets (-5.5) @ Heat

The Heat look completely lost with their team. And the Hornets will hand them another Loss.

11/23 - Hawks (+7.5) @ Celtics
Hawks are bad by design. Celtics are pushing for seeding for the playoffs. I take the Celts at home.

11/25 - Bulls @ Kings: Total 194 Over/Under/Push
TMax is the best player we've ever seen in sim league history.

11/27 - Suns @ Pacers: Total 177 Over/Under/Push

I don't know why im picking over. Just a gut feeling, but mostly bc PP scored 37 a game by himself.

11/29 - Jazz (+6.5) @ Mavericks

This is a YUUUUGE game in the midwest. I think 6 and a half is too much to give a strong Jazz team.
